I would agree with you, but that comment by Ellerbe "becareful what you wish for". Ellerbe is not the kind of person that would just say that unless Floyd told him to do it.

He has been away for over a year, if he stays gone for to much longer his shine will really start to fade. Right now if he comes back he is still one of the top dogs in boxing, but if he waits to long people will not know him anymore (to some people he will still have weight with, but not like right now imo).

To me the timing is right, I would kind of like him to fight someone different but it was JMM saying he wanted to fight Mayweather. Maybe you are right and this fight does not come off, but I am fairly sure Floyd will be in the ring before September against someone.

Not only floyd can counter, he also got great foot work, speed and power. Floyd is more skilled, bigger and smarter than marquez. Really the only thing marquez got over floyd is heart, other than that he dont got the speed, chin, or even the youth to even thing of beating floyd. Really we are talking about the one of the best defensive fighter in this era against marquez now who in the past few fights has been in wars. Really the reason he can hang with pacman(IMO that pac won the first one while the second one was a draw) is that he is alot smarter than pacquaio, but he dont have that advantage against floyd. THe only time ill pick marquez is if they fight in 140.

JMM is a very good counter puncher and punch in combinations. After Gatti, Floyd turn out into a single punch, potshoting machine.
I give JMM a huge chance, but ultimante I think PBF wins a SD because of his size and speed, compare to JMMs.

Thas because he moved up in weight..and faced fighters bigger and stronger then him.

I disagree miamijohn, I think Mayweather will win (not just cause I am a fan, because of his skill set alone)... and to be honest I and many of other people would think you are funny for thinking Marquez can beat Mayweather, rather than the other way round.

I think you're hate for Floyd is clouding your judgment. Floyd is just a bad match up for JMM. Marquez is not going to be throwing a ****load of punches with Floyd taking every single one of them. Floyd knows how to roll off punches and has the best timing out of any boxer fighting today. He's fast, but his timing is what gets fighters off rhythm. Marquez is a great fighter, but he can't fight like how he fought Pacquiao against Floyd.

And btw...if this fight is ever signed, I'll put down $300 on Floyd no odds, straight up. I'm around your way. Put your money where your mouth is.
