Wow, that is all that needs to be said of this fight.

Going into the fight I didn't know what was going to happen, I only knew that something was going to happen. In the early rounds it looked like Diaz was going to be too strong and force too fast of a pace for the older Marquez.

Marquez started making great adjustments, like throwing three punches upstairs and then finishing to the body while Diaz covered up. Diaz's problem is that he can only fight one way and once he was hurt and tired, he was just a sitting duck for Marquez's combinations.

I've always said, there was no one with stamina like Marquez, that training he's doing in the mountains has got his lungs strong as an ox. If Marquez can go 12 rounds with Pacquiao with a bleeding nose streaming, he can handle what Diaz can dish out.

Once Diaz got cut it affected him greatly. Some guys just cannot mentally handle the sight of their own blood.

I find it very hard to imagine a scenario where Diaz can return to his previous form. He has absorbed a lot of punishment in his young career, the Campbell fight and now this, guys with his style, once they get cracked they stay cracked.

Marquez reminds me of Roberto Duran because of his counter punching and boxing IQ. What a great fight and now you can see why he was avoided for years. Let's just say Mayweather would be a great fight but pretty boy only fights who he can beat only hand picked fighters like Arturo the punching bag Gatti and other stiffs below world class boxers. I couldn't care less if Floyd ever fights again let him spend all his money like many other fools. The real boxing icons don't run from anyone and Floyd has been running most of his career. Let's see Marquez fight who ever has the balls to step into the ring.

On the Friday nights fights Teddy Atlas picked Diaz to win. I said to my buddy, no way. Althought Diaz punches in bunches he doesn't have the k.o. power that Marquez has...so I picked Marquez by late round knock out. I figured Diaz would probably win the early rounds but I figured Marquez would start coming on during the middle rounds...which is exactly what happened. It does me good to out pick such a boxing expert as Teddy Atlas. But as others on this board has stated.....that was a damn good fight. By the way...I thought Chris Johns was robbed by a hometown decision. I had him winning 115-114 and that was giving Juarez most of the close rounds.

You knew it was only matter of time before Diaz succumbed. We all know Marquez is battle tested and can take the biggest shots and keep coming back like Jason Voorhees.
it wasn't necessarily the punching "power" as much as the accuracy.....

beginning of the fight, diaz's agressiveness had marquez off balance, but as the fight wore on, diaz landed few "clean" shots. in most of the exchanges diaz gave the impression he was doing damage, but marquez always fired back, and his shots were on the money. i favor clean punching over agressiveness any day.

damn that was a sick fight, once marquez stopped backing into the ropes and started spinning diaz around, the fight was over
