don't worry y'all isn't ex-mma champ andrei arlovski (that just got gtfo by fedor, and was being trained by freddie roach for boxing skills) now going to turn pro boxer and have his first pro match soon? Roach even said something about Arlovski fighting and beating Klitschko or something like that.

When an upper echelon fighter like Mercer or Rahman goes MMA, it usually means two things....
              1. His boxing career is over & he's just looking for some pennies on the $.
              2. It's sad, almost like when Joe Louis had to wrestle after his career. In Joe's case, the IRS was hot on his tail, he had to. What is Rahman's excuse? Is he that hard up for cash? It's almost a shame.....

He's physically very strong, but if he has limited skills he won't get too far I imagine. I think a lot depends on how serious the fighter is. If he's willing to go back to the drawing board and learn a lot of the basics, and respect the sport, he might have a better chance. Mercer was ignorant [as well as being old] and paid the price.

Edit: That was K1, now that I remember.

He knows his hopes in boxing are gone, so he joins MMA.

Good, i hope all heavies just quit, they all SUCK.
