Marquez vs. Diaz: Juan Manuel is Ready For War

Former two division champ Juan Manuel Marquez (49-4, 36KOs) is ready for war when he steps in the ring with Juan Diaz (34-1, 17KOs) on February 28 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Marquez is said that he is oozing with motivation to capture his third world title in his third weight division. The fringe IBO lightweight title is on the line, but Eric Gomez, matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, has said that a possibility exists for Marquez-Diaz to have the vacant WBO lightweight title on the line. Diaz will lose imo b/c he has too much to prove after losing to Campbell. He will press the action for a bit, but Marquez will eventually rock him in the later rounds.

This is a great fight and the WBO should put their title up for grabs. Marquez and Diaz are two of the best fighters in the division... perhaps the two best?

I agree with this fight haveing the vacant title on the line not Barrera/Khan.

Anyways with two of my favorite fighters in the ring im hoping for a draw lol.

I've got Marquez in this fight. He's too sharp and adaptable, he's going to win a tight competitive decision.

This one deserves to be a Championship bout, unlike Barrera vs Khan, hope it is for the vacant WBO belt.

actually i think diaz will try to box with marquez for a few rounds before realizing that he cant hang with marquez on the outside and then he'll try to bring it inside.

one of diaz's main criticisms of himself was not jabbing enough.
