I agree with everybody who says Margarito should not fight in Mexico and that doing so will screw his chances of ever getting his license back in the US because the Commission will be pissed that he defied their ruling.
At the same time, the article says that Mexico feels the ruling was unfair because it was made without lab results (real certified 100% proof that it's plaster or something like it... which it seems like it is, but again, even if it's say 95% likely, it hasn't been legally proven).
I can't speak for an entire nation, but being of Mexican heritage, I suspect that a small part of this Marg fighting in Mexico is that some Mexicans feel there's a lot of anomosity directed towards them, especially from the U.S. I mean, you can see it here... just in this thread alone somebody is saying all Mexicans are good for is to be in drug cartels. The anti-Mexican **** is everywhere.
Articles have stated that the test results of the substance didn't happen sooner because they are backed up with murder and assault cases (esentially, it's a low priority). The argument is why not wait until the result to make the decision? Keep the temporary supsension until confirmation. But because the Commission wanted to act fast (partly to deflect attention from them not doing their job right the night of the fight), they revoke Marg's license, leading some Mexicans to feel it was not fair because all the facts were not present. MLB steroid cases go on for years, this decision was swift at a hearing not a trial.
Again, I'm not defending Marg. Loaded wraps are evil. (And Arum really didn't have Mexican's best interest in mind with his comments, it's all just money with him.)
I'm just saying, this might be partly what's going on with Mexico showing Marg support... (And no, I haven't forgotten about corrupt politicians... They're gonna say whatever they think lines their pockets... but then again I don't have proof that these specific politicians are corrupt... I'm just assuming because it seems likely... See what I mean?)
