The Cobra's speed and power devastated Pascal. He will never be the same fighter again, he is ruined.

E.g. see , from 2000, and , from 2001. Neither of them ducked the other, it's just one of those things that it never happened.
Nice one. It's good to be able to back this up with articles from way back in 2000.

maybe if we get lucky if froch beats 1-2 big names after taylor maybe joe would come out of retirement and beat him down afterall frank warren seems to think he would comeback if it could better his name and the money was right if froch so desperate to fight joe y not offer him 90-10 or even all the cash how good would that look on his record he gave joe 100% of the ourse to tempt him out and them KO`d him never gonna happen but would boost froch up like nothin else would

Also, for anyone who thinks Calzaghe didn't try to get a fight with Hopkins in his prime, from 2002:
"We had an agreement for the Hopkins fight to happen," said Warren. "I had discussed terms with Don King, who looks after Hopkins, and I had American TV with Showtime. I would have paid Hopkins £3 million, but suddenly he said he wouldn't take the fight unless he was paid £6m."

"Realised" is too strong, I'm sure Hopkins thought he could win, but he obviously thought it was a high risk fight and decided wanted no part of it at that time. Asking Showtime at the last moment to double the purse was not a genuine negotiating tactic, he just didn't want the fight at that time. (Hopkins used similar tactics in his negotiations with Roy Jones). Instead he took an alphabet mandatory against a nobody for far less money.
