Arum put several million of his own money into the pot to try to save the deal. All the anti-Arum posts are totally misplaced.

Really they shouldn't have released anything about the contract info until they were ready to sign or at least in agreement, if that were the case we wouldnt really have known about all the drama short of a 25 second max kellerman bit on how they had trouble comming to an agreement.

I mean, this sort of thing probably happens frequently, you just don't hear about it cause its not fighters of this popularity.
No, it's not normal for an agreement to be reached and then for one of them to pull out after that. And it's not normal for a fighter to refuse to talk to his own trainer and his own promoter. But you're right about the publicity being much greater because of who they are.

Glad the fight is going through.
I am very worried about Pac's mindset right now. Avoiding talking to your trainer when he tries to call you ten nights in a row is a terrible sign. I hope beating De La Hoya doesnt give him too big of a head.

Only a big time Hatton hater would be so sure of that. Pac will definitely be the strong favourite (assuming the fight really is on, which I'll only believe when the contract is signed), but most boxing experts think it will be competitive and that Hatton has an outside chance to win. Don't forget that if this fight had been made before Pac beat DLH, Hatton might have been the slight favourite. And I don't think you should get the DLH fight out of proportion - Pac was brilliant in that fight, but DLH would have lost to any leading welterweight that night, IMO. Also, with Mayweather Snr in his corner now, Hatton is likely to have a far better game plan than he did against Mayweather Jnr. If Pac underestimates him he's in trouble (although I doubt he will underestimate him).

Message to Golden Boy Or Top Rank

Manny is a great figther but he sucks at Negotiating. Should be a good fight but please take note that the Undercard is as important as the main event to use fans who buy the PPVs. Im not a Hollywood A-Lister who shows up When the Main Event does, so im tuning in once those Damn Promos start playing in an endless loop OVer and Over agian. And to be honest after some of these lackluster undercards i think they should just play those damn Promos instead, well sometimes. Every once in awhile you get a Juanma but they are far and few in between. Either the Headliners dont want to share the spotlight(being showed up by an undercard) or they dont want to share the wealth and this needs to stop. I usually end up watching the Rockets and keep flipping back and forth till i give a ****, which could make me miss more Promos or touching stories about the Boxers ****ed up youth. And with the cost of the PPVs it would go long way if Golden Boy or Top Rank or WhoeverPromotions takes the extra step and gives worthwhile undercards that keep the DieHard Boxing Fan Entertained for more than 30 minutes of a Four Hour Show. OR just show those Damn Promos some more

I was referring to Floyds lead rights during Hattons fight. Hatton was open to them all night. Roach and Pac are going to capitalize on this.
