    Nate Campbell vs. Joel Casamayor

This was a near prime Casamayor vs a green Campbell...Campbell only started boxing when he was in his mid twenties. and this fight was very close, I had it a draw myself, and Campbell swept the first 3 rounds without much trouble.

I shudder to think what a prime Campbell would have done to him.

Casamayor was an excellent boxer in his prime.Casamayor took the fight on 2 weeks notice.A prime Casamyor would murder Campbell who always was an inconsistent and inactive fighter.

I forget who I was arguing with that claimed Campbell was owned by Casamayor and ducked a rematch.

He will duck this thread more than likely.

Campbell was the opponent, he was supposed to be Casamayor's fodder, hence the benefit of the doubt in a fight I had a draw.

Dude any fight taken on short notice(which he did) has the chances of you looking bad as you can't be in shape,or optimum shape.

Give me a source here, I need to verify that the fight was taken on short notice.

Other than that, you have to remember that it takes two to tango. Both guys took the fight on short notice, if it is at all true. It was Campbell who was stepping way up in class, the best fighter he had fought previously was Daniel Alicea.

When Casamayor fought Corrales the first time the announcers say that he took the Campbell fight on 2 weeks notice.Anyway I remeber it being on short notice.Believe me or not, that's what happened.

which means that Campbell also took the fight on 2 weeks notice and was probebly a late replacement for someone else, pwnt.

Campbell had 5 years of boxing experience.
Casamayor had 15+ years of boxing experience.

Casamayor beat diego Corrales in his next fight.

It's not about me believing you or not as much as it is that I have to verify all of the information that I accept as fact. If you visit this site often enough, you'll notice that people will say anything to prove their point. That's why when I hear something for the first time, I take the time out to verify the info.

I don't understand why Casamayor would be taking fights on short notice, the show was promoted by his people. If he took the fight on short notice, he obviously signed a contract and accepted all consequences as a result of entering the agreement.

And by "taking the fight on short notice" they may very well have meant that he had accepted this particular opponent, but had the date reserved for him. I think that is far more believable.

As Merchant said, "This is a Grand Canyon leap in class for Campbell."
