Pacquiao Warned, Take 50-50 or The Hatton Fight is Off!

Pac needs to get rid of all those hanger ons that he has following him around getting a free ride.

No way he needs that many people in his camp. Sure the dude has a lot of friends, but seriously it's a joke. Someone would be paying for them all and it would be Pac. Sure what we see on 24/7 is pocket change, but what we don't see would be alarming.

You wont often find a rich man lacking in "friends".

Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, has told his fighter, Manny Pacquiao, to drop his demand of a 60-40 split or the May 2 bout with Ricky Hatton is going to be off. Arum came to a verbal agreement with Team Hatton for a 50-50 split in December. Two days ago, Pacquiao's attorney informed reporters that Manny is not willing to agree to a 50-50 deal and wants a 60-40 split. Hatton's attorney stood firm and said Ricky would only agree to a 50-50 split. He also expressed the option of a legal suit against Pacquiao for breaking a "verbal contract." [details]

This just sounds like their all in on it but Arum has to act like he doesn't know why Pacquiao is asking for more. Arum is his advisor and management, I'm sure that he knew that Pac was ready to deal this hand because they know how much Ricky Hatton & his people want the fight. Or it can be a case of Manny getting a fat head & feeling himself. I think more the less that their all in on it because if Team Hatton decides to sue it leaves Arum and Top Rank out of the mix. Top Rank is team and the last thing they will go against is their guys wishes. May or may not be the case but something to me sounds fishy. I think Pacquiao/Hatton should split 50/50 because they'll bring the same energy to the fight, plus Hatton is the P4P top dog at 140 and has a title so Manny looks to gain more than Hatton if he wins & Hatton loses.

why in the hell does bob arum thinks hatton gets a 50-50 split with the p4p king. **** bob arum. manny has beaten 4 of the biggest names in boxing. de la hoya ,morales,marquez,and barrera. who has hatton beaten. a old ass K tzsye. 60-40 manny's way or no fight. arum has really been messing up with his fighters.

There's no way Pac should make less than 60. Most people want to watch Pac fight. Even if the opponent was a nobody, Pac would make big PPV #s. Hatton brings some, but Pac is the P4P best. Besides, Hatton's will get kod in the 10!

Sadly, that is not how boxing works now. If it was always the best fighter getting the biggest money then there would be a lot more happy, rich, old fighters out there. It's not the way it is though and you have to remember boxing is a sport, it is entertainment and Hatton brings more fans and more money than anyone else in boxing today, and yes, that includes Manny Pacquiao. Asking Hatton to take 40% is similar to asking Oscar to take the lesser %. Doesn't matter if he's worse than the opponent, because he is the bigger star, better known and will bring in more money for the promoters and PPV etc.

That is all that matters and in this fight, it is not up to Manny to be making these demands in my opinion. He is facing the 140 Ring Champ and trying to take his belt. Pac is the challenger. If Hatton was challenging Pac then I could understand it, but this is just plain ridiculous. You don't ask for the larger % when you're the challenger and the lesser known fighter that will bring less fans and money. Boxing is a sport that is about money. Whoever brings more people is the bigger star. In this case it's Hatton. Simple as that. 50/50 is a very fair deal to both guys, anything more for either is crazy, but Manny asking for more is really crazy.
