"Hey Paul, we read here in Europe that you want to squeeze out of a fight against me," said WBO super welterweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk. "Apparently you're looking for an opponent and planning other fights because you're afraid to go against me. You don't need to look left or right look, the right way to look is the way to the champion ?and that is me! There can only be one meaningful fight and that's Sergiy Dzinziruk vs. Paul Williams. I'm the world champion and you're only an interim champ. I'm ready to face you anytime and defend the REAL WBO belt in the ring!" [details]

It seems to me that Williams is always crying about people not wanting to fight him per fear of him. I see it as them wanting more "front page" worthy fights. Williams is the next big thing, but he isn't the BIG thing as of right now. People pass Williams up because he isn't on the tip of everyone's tounges yet. The crying doesn't help.
He says no one wants to fight, but the truth is, there are a ton of guys that want to, Sergiy Dzinziruk is one of them. Joshua Clottey is praying for the opportunity to mix it up with Williams. Williams passes them up for the same reason the bigger names pass him up.

There will be a couple of hiccups to making this fight. 1) Pwill's eye will have to heal first. 2) Will the guy actually come to the US for the fight without asking for a crazy amount of money. 3) Will the guy be willing to take the smaller purse as he is not the draw in the fight. 4) Does Pwill want to take this fight or would he rather become someone else's mandatory. If you have a belt, then you are no longer ranked by the other belts. This gives guys like Vernon Forrest an easy way to avoid unification.

So let me rephrase, Williams' TEAM passes on fights for the same reason bigger fighter's TEAMS pass on him.
Two things we all can agree on..... 1) Arum is a damn snake in the business... 2) Arum is probably the cleanest of all the promoters, which is just sad. Don't even get me started on Goosen.

I suppose that is incorrect, but unless a fighter is fighting from out of his own promotional company, like the OLDH, B-Hop, or Mosley, it is ALWAYS the team as a whole that passes or accepts a fight.
