as of right now erik and marco achievements ***** anything marquez has accomplished.

Marquez did not have the same opportunities that marco and erik had and thats just the truth.

Marquez had to make the most of his opportunities by fighting fighters that marco and erik stylistically avoided.

Norwood, gainer, and casamayor.

both marco and erik had the opportunity to fight any of the three previously mentioned and picked up a title but those matches were to high of risk with a low reward.

now im not saying marco and erik could not have beat those guys but they didnt fight them because they didnt have too.

Marquez can not get credit for fighters he did not beat even thou most would agree that he probably would come out on top against just about every good win that marco and erik had listed.

so marquez resume does not stack up but one way you can tell he is on there skill level you can compare how he did against common opponents.

and when you compare marquez and marco common opponents, marquez has beat them all in better fashion (peden, juarez..) or has simply performed better than marco in losing. (Marquez vs pac II, Pac vs marco II)

I would loved to see erik and marquez face off, on paper I would favor juans counter punching but something tells me that erik tenacity and chin might be able to overcome that and win a dec in a very competitive fight.

pacquiao gets **** for beating barrera while OLD and PAST PRIME......marquez fought barrera 4-5 years later than pac's first fight with him.

No, no, no man. I'm not going to say Barrera. Barrera was still very good the first time Pacman beat him. His best win easily.

See, what gets me sometimes is that everyone just keeps saying that Marquez fights old and shot fighters, when the simple fact is that you can't argue that Pac hasn't also done that. He faced one guy that Marquez didn't in his prime and that was Barrera. He faced him a second time after Marquez had already beaten him. So, although Marquez didn't get him the first time around, Pac still gets a free ticket for facing him when he was already beaten by Marquez previously. Pac had also got the TKO the first time around. Why even the need to face him again?

No one mentions that though, and I'm not trying to say anything, apart from the fact that both have faced old fighters and made their names off them, like it or not. Neither guy has faced more prime great fighters than the other apart from that one win over Barrera.

Doesn't make them any less great than they already are though. That's how boxing goes. The older great champs get beaten by the newer, prime champs who then become great themselves. You can't ****e on one fighter for doing it and say the next one is great for doing the same thing. Pacquiao is greater because he has done more, but it's still the same thing that all you guys are ****ting on Marquez for doing which is beating old, done fighters. If you say Pac hasn't done it then that means Marquez hasn't done it either. If you say Marquez has done it, then that means Pac has done it as well.
