Margarito Not Thinking Williams, Focused on Mosley

WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito is training hard for his January 24 showdown with former three-division champion Shane Mosley. The Los Angeles battle takes place at the Staples Center. Margarito tells krikya360.com's Ernest Gabion that he's been looking forward to this fight for a long time. He doesn't underestimate Mosley due to his age, and plans give it his all in the ring. [details]

If Pwill ain't at 147 anymore, he shouldn't be thinkin about him. If he moves back down, they need to rematch by next year's end.

Margarito should have Williams somewhere in his sight, I mean Williams does have a win over him and Margarito avenging his loss should be the fight being made not a Cotto vs. Margarito 2 fight. Of course boxing fans would love to see Cotto vs. Margarito 2 but honestly the outcome would be the same. Margarito should be looking to take down Williams to bump his name up the P4P list.

Williams should be on his list in late 09 or earl 10. If he shows no interest in fighting him in either year, dude is genuinely ducking Williams.

margs may be ducking pwill, but hes still fighting class opposition, and everybody wants margs to avenge hes williams loss, what about letting cotto avenge hes only loss. all cotto needs is a solid fight plan, remember her embarrassed margs for most of the bout till margs power sunk in, a better fight plan could let to a very easy decision win for cotto.

Mosley is class opposition?? PLEASE! he barely beat an old ricardo mayorga.. if he struggled with that guy, then its time to think retirement.. mosley is obviously past his prime and he isnt really a technical boxer at all... he was always basically a brawler with fast hands, and as he gotten older his reflexes have slowed as it does with everyone once they age... mosley makes many technical mistakes and he's not really a technical boxer and you throw that in with declining reflexes and you have a recipe for disaster.. you can't pass him off as a great opponent.. mosley is gonna get destroyed.. and thats sad because i dont wanna see him get beaten to a bloody pulp

You're underestimating Shane. Just because Cotto beat Mosley and Margarito beat Cotto doesn't mean Mosley can't beat Margarito. That Mayorga fight doesn't really mean ****. It was a stay-busy fight when the Zab fight went through and wasn't contested at 147lb, which is Shane's best weight. And Shane beat his ass anyway.

You gotta recognise fighters like Shane live for title shots, and anything that isn't a title fight won't bring out his best. I'm tipping Shane to beat Tony, but it will be hard to watch because I love both these guys.
