For the Hatton-Pacquiao fight, realistically, don't expect to get into the doors for less than $700. If not, you can always watch the fight closed circuit at just about any Hotel on the strip for $40-60...
They'll show the HBO broadcast on a huge screen, and its a really fun...fight-like atmosphere. Usually there will be a few hundred people in each place watching closed circuit, so you get a similar experience at a fraction of the price.
You'll be hard pressed trying to get tickets through any of the promoters, or Ticketmaster.
Luckily for me, and a whole lot of other people...folks just weren't willing to pay ticket brokers those ridiculous prices for lame seats @ the Oscar-Pacquiao fight. So they ended up having to liquidate a whole lot of tickets last minute.
Even if you are logged on to Ticketmaster at 9:30am, and stay on until 10:00am (10 is the time they release the tickets for sale)...
You click on the tickets and it says 'unavailable' for all of the seats under $750.
I think the tickets under that price are sold to brokers like StubHub, who then turn around and sell the $150 seats for $600. The cheaper seats are the way they can turn the most profit, so thats why I think they are so hard to get from Ticketmaster directly.
vegas is off the hook, but it depends if u like to party or not. and take lots of cash, its crazy expensive.
i've been there for a smaller card mosely vs collazo, if u stay at the hotel where the event is at u get to see a lot of boxing people, the fighters themselves. to get your moneys worth u should attend the weigh in.
for that fight forget about it, its gonna be packed.
Definitely make sure you get to Vegas early maybe even thursday night or earlier. That way you have time to attend the weigh in and other festivities that are associated with the fight.
Watching a fight live is the greatest sports event you can watch live. And watching a fight in vegas is like nothing else. The atmosphere for that fight will be ridiculous. Both Mandalay and MGM are pretty small so getting the cheap tickets is not that big of a deal. You'll still get a great view. If the fight lands at Thomas and Mack, get good seats cuz its huge and has rafters that can interfere with your view. Don't get too wasted before the fight cuz there's gonna be a lot of drunk clowns and you wanna be kinda sober if **** goes down.
Its always cheaper to depart/arrive on a Thursday.
Its also always cheaper to go home on Monday than it is on Sunday.
Either way, its not going to be impossible to get tickets to the fight, if you're willing to spend the money.
My whole this is that money comes and goes. Experiences like these literally last a lifetime, and are well worth the money, which only holds monetary value.
smaller HBO cards are almost better because you get to meet all the celebrities. I met Holyfield at the Taylor-Lacy fight in Nashville
I think you'll meet your fair share of celebrities in Vegas. I went to Pavlik/Taylor II and met Roger and Floyd Mayweather Sr, Dibella, Arum, Sugar, Mario Lopez and Lampley.
