i didnt actually think id get a response lol

but yeah i do suspect they will overturn the decision

The best you can hope for is to have a rematch ordered. Very unlikely that the decision would be overturned.

Maybe that is why I have a different perspective?

I admit it was a **** fight with a very scared Holyfiled running away from Valuev the whole fight.

I think the reason most of the euro-haters in here think Valuev sucks is because he scares the **** out of just about everyone he fights. So his opponents run away... and 300+ pound guys just don't run as fast. So yeah I guess it makes for a boring fight.

Fact is that you gotta have balls if you are going to win against Valuev.
Chagaev has balls of brass, thats why he can do it.

        Punches that landed?

        THAT WAS VALUEV!
        THAT IS WHY HE WON!

        Get over it babies!

The reason idiots in here think Evander landed so many shots is because the broadcast kept showing a replay in between rounds where Evander landed one of his few punches from different camera angles from the fuggin second round...

Sober up and watch the fight again and skip the damn Americanized replays, Valuev landed a few more times (check out the uppercuts). He also clearly rocked Evander in the 7th and 8th, Evander never once actually hurt Valuev!

Otherwise, I say the fight should go to the guy who wasn't the obvious *****.
        WHICH WAS VALUEV!

        Euro-haters may now resume whining.
Evander wasn't running; he used lateral movement constantly. There are apparently two ways now to beat that...wait for the judges to bail you out OR double jab and cut off the ring. Valuev did some of the latter in three, maybe four rounds. The rest of the time he dropped his arms and shook loose because he was missing and taking most of the best shots. No replays needed...when literally 20-30 seconds exist between landed shots, it's pretty damn easy to figure out who landed. Why not just post "Look at me...I'm different" and get it over with.

What can actually be done to over turn a verdict? the judges obviousley had the hairy gorilla picked before hand, they proberly reasoned that it would never even be a close bet that holy might come close, it's like the mob era all over again euro-style, these bastards better never judge again

No major fights should be staged in Europe. Boxing on that continent and the corruption in fights is just a joke. Take them off them.

There was some equally bad judging in the US last weekend, as Fres Oquendo clearly defeated James Toney but lost on the cards!

Then Kendall Holt clearly defeated his opponent Demetrius Hopkins, only to have one judge, Julie Lederman, score the fight for Hopkins and rob Holt of a much-deserved UD.

The judges today were from Panama, Italy and Sweden. None of the three were from Russia or Germany.

Going back to today's fight, most of the rounds were close because neither fighter did much. Yahoo.com scored it 116-112 for Valuev, and fight news scored it 115-113 for Valuev. I scored it a close decision win for Holyfield, but I was watching on an internet stream and I may have been influenced by the American commentary.

I accept there is bad judging everywhere but some of the fights in Europe and just completely corrupt. It is disgusting. There should be no title fights on the European mainland.

i think this was a much worse decision than the toney-oquendo fight. although i think oquendo won, the fight was closer. plus, the holyfield fight had much more at stake. this is an absolute disgrace and a black eye for the sport.
