Johnson should have been given a rematch.

Now Dawson is planning to rematch Tarver, who is a faded fighter he can easily beat again.

First of all Johnson was not a mandatory, so Dawson doesn't ''owe'' Johnson anything. He gave Johnson a title opportunity because he was a well known light heavyweight and Dawson's first step up against the big names. Johnson should beat Diaconu, so him and Dawson could unify some time down the road.

Fighter's goals are to get the biggest money fights they can. Dawson brings nothing for Calzaghe. Why would he fight a dangerous opponent for less than half as much as he made for fighting Roy Jones? On the other hand, a Johnson rematch is just another Showtime fight for Dawson. It's human nature for people to want to trade up.
