Cotto is already great and if you think otherwise due to 1 loss in which he was actually doing very well in until the last 20 sec. of round 10 in which he had has hands at his hips and got caught with a freebie. That precipitated the end... it changed everything. Up until then, he was alright. Had he kept his hands up, and not allowed Margarito to catch him when sliding off the ropes with hands down, he would have been in better shape to finish the fight and poss. win. Add to that the 3-4 Margarito lowblows... ****in pathetic middleweight *****.

Cotto made MANY mistakes... I am sure he has already watched the fight and will make adjustments. It is a fight he should NEVER lose. Margarito is durable yes, but NOT by any means invincible.

Watch a few more fights before you make boyish comments about Cotto being an average fighter.
I really hate to jump into the middle of this e-war but man! I don't quite agree with your perception of the Marg vs Cotto fight. I mean to say that Cotto was in it until the 10th is at best biased as can be. I mean sure he was catching Marg all through the fight but "mijo" Cotto got hurt in the 2nd round (ok felt Margs power) and then had his nosed cracked albeit by a punch (last time I checked it was during the match, which makes it ok).

Your remark about Cotto getting caught with a freebie when his hands were down on his side....dude, boxing 101...big no-no. The only reason he had his hands down on his side was cuz he was gassed and hurt. Not a freebie as you stated.

Lowblows you say? Next thing your gonna say is that the reffing was horrible. Not once was either one of them cautioned for anything. So, for 3 or 4 lowblows (In your opinion) to have been landed, it must have been another fight you were watching. Not one Cotto fan had said anything about this until today...and it was you!

Last but not least Cotto is a great fighter and will be back...I can hardly wait for the rematch...I still predict Marg will take it. I plan on being there, even if it's in MSG or Atlantic City...the lions den....vamos palante!

For some reason, even without reading the thread, I knew Turkoglu was Jack. An obvious homage to the former Sac King.

Seriously though, some boxing fans are barbarians. They take pleasure in seeing a sporting event degenerate into a degrading, life-threatening situation. And when one guy realizes he has no chance and needs to call it a day, they get upset and ridicule him.

Cotto has a ton of heart, but also a ton of sense.

Who took more punishment, Cotto or Vasquez? I'd say Cotto, but Vasquez catches no heat for pulling out.

Jack, I just want you to know, I still love you. And you still crack me up.

Cotto was in the mix until the last 20sec. of the 10th round. Cotto was styling with the hands down. He got caught.... He was not incapable of holding his hands up at that point. In fact he did a lot of that throughout the fight when moving laterally on the ropes. As for lowblows... watch the fight. There were at least 3. How ironic that the Mexicans bitched about Cotto being the low blow liability (proven false) and Margie comes in with punches to the hip, **** and balls (which kill and mess with your mobility) and it's cool? I only bring it up in the proud Mexican tradition of bitching and moaning. I figure I will try it out. Notice, Cotto took his defeat and wants REVENGE. Does Margarito REALLY wanna fight Williams again? no.
