LOL, I think lparm's hate for Oscar is definately unparalleled.

He quit. He likely was legitimately hurt, but not as bad as he made it look. Replay of the body blow that ends it shows it wasn't even that hard of a punch.

i know Hopkins was coming on strong but i thought it was close enough for him not to have decided to jack it in

its been long time since i watched it so i could be getting my scoring fcuked up

Couldn't find one with english commentary, but a good view of the punch and the overly dramatic KO loss. Who was DLH trying to convince? the fans?

I always thought it was bull****.. till I got hit like Oscar did.
I've only been knocked down once and it was because of a left hook to the body.
That **** sucks the wind out of you and you feel a bit parallized.
It does seem kind of fishy with the way he rolled around and such but try the pain out for yourself and then you be the judge.
Also, Oscar's reaction was very similar to Kermit Cintron's..

I've been winded before and it does sap your strength but you can still get up. My problem wasn't with the punch knocking DLH down but with him being melodramatic and making it look like he was hit by a 50 cal bullet. He knew Hop was beating him down and I still think he quit.

No I seriously doubt he quit, the scoring was relatively even, Oscar didn't look particularly exhausted at that point in the fight. A win for Oscar would have been monumental, really sealed his legend status in the sport.

If he was looking for a way out he could have feined something like a shoulder injury and could have been honourably retired by the corner. But for a guy who had never been stopped to pull a fast one by writhing in agony after taking an inoccuous body blow is laughable.

Oscar's heart and fighting desire have always been top drawer. Sometimes body blows can have a strange reaction that even fighters dont understand till they ship the wrong one, think Castillo vs Hatton, who'd have thought Castillo would have been stopped by one body blow?

I don't see why he would quit, the guys were basically dancing with each other for 9 rounds and neither took much punishment at all.

I don't think he quit. I think that body shot was fcukin devestating and it really really hurt DLH. After the count DLH didn't get up from the canvas for a couple seconds, but then was perfectly fine after the fight.

i don't think DLH was able to recover. Body shots are the hardest to recover from.

i don't think he quit. And this is coming from a major Pacquiao fan.
