    At the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California - Paul Williams (36-1, 27 KOs) stopped veteran Verno Phillips (42-11-1, 21 KOs) after eight rounds to capture the WBO interim-junior middleweight title. [details]

    What a performance. The punisher punished Philips

    Round one 10-9 Williams
    Round Two 10-9 Williams
    Round Three 10-9 Williams
    Round Four 10-9 Williams
    Round Five 10-9 Williams
    Round Six 10-9 Williams
    Round Seven 10-9 Williams
    Round Eight 10-9 Williams

          Williams is alright, still flawed though and goes back to punching open handed after a few rounds, he'll still have problems with movers IMO.

                  Phillips won round 2, but it doesn't matter. Good solid performance by Paul, but I wasn't overly wowed.

                    I agree, it was a good solid performance from Williams and he completely dominated Phillips!
