Former two-division champion Miguel Cotto is refusing to submit to the pressure of Top Rank's Bob Arum, who gave the Puerto Rican superstar a Wednesday deadline to made a decision on a potential fight on February 21 with Michael Jenning of the UK. The vacant WBO welterweight title will be at stake and should take place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The fight will be part of a split-feed pay-per-view doubleheader, along with the other co-main event - Kelly Pavlik defending his middleweight titles in Ohio against Marco Antonio Rubio. [details]

Cotto has took the fight, i thought? If he hasn't then he should, I think he would beat Jenning. He should take the fight, get the title then move on to bigger and better things like a rematch with Margarito, move up a weight class to fight Cory Spinks or maybe even a fight with Hatton. I think Cotto would beat Ricky at the Welter weight division but at Jnr. Welter then it would be a more even contest. Either way, he still has more than enough time to be top dog again!

a long break could help Cotto,.. let him rest and get that natural desire and hunger back... or he won't do well, ... the long break helped Taylor,.. I feel that Cotto would benefit by a few more month rest as well.

I don't want it to be against Jennings though.
Jennings must be terrible considering he is 34-1 and I have never heard him mentioned by any of our British posters.
