That's a great quote from Roy in your sig. He's always been very good about encouraging young fighters. Many people forget Roy walking in the ring with Floyd for his bout against Corrales.

Yep. I don't think Roy joined him in the ring. In fact, he did his best not take the spotlight away from Floyd though he was far more popular then.

In fact, Floyd acknowledged a year later that some of the things Jones told him before that fight were among the most profound he's ever been told re: boxing.

For years it seemed like these 2 couldn't stand each other and for Bernard to go into Roy's dressing room after the fight and say that to him shows character that I personally didn't know Bernard had.

I hate to hear about one of Roy's sons being so upset, that's heartbreaking. Life will go on and Roy has put his fingerprint on boxing so he has nothing to be ashamed of. He just doesn't have it anymore and unfortunately he didn't/couldn't get out of the boxing game before he took a beating like this to make him realize it.

It sucks for Roy fans like myself and it was tough watching him get KOed twice but Saturday night was just awful to watch. He needs to leave well enough alone before he get seriously hurt. Just sad.

Bhop is an *******. Bhop should fight RJJ and add to his legacy vs talking **** about the man that beat him twice. And RJJ would beat BHOP because Bhop has been beating on blown up Fighters like Jermain Taylor, Kelly Pavlik, Tito Trinidad, Winky Wright and so on. RJJ is like the Michael Jordan of boxing. Unfortunately he is The Jordan that played for the Wizards not the Bulls.

How was Taylor blown up? He was a physically stronger fighter than Hopkins when they fought and weighed more than Hopkins.

Roy and Hops always had respect for each other. They're just two very prideful, intelligent and alpha men. I think fighters in general have a great respect for each other, regardless of their words to the media. Two examples are, remember when Hops fought Simon Brown on HBO with Roy commentating? Right after he stopped him, Bernard leaned over and gave Roy dap. James Toney did the same thing with Roy right after he entered the ring prior to his bout against Ruiz. Funny world we live in.

We're frowning because roy lost.. The same way Tyson did.. When they were past their prime but had a big enough name for one last big Fight.

Been a great Career For Roy Jones Jr. Very Exciting fighter and one you could only hope to be like if God has blessed you...But for his health and my like for him I'd like to see him retire too.

My god Hopkins not rubbishing someone???!!! Showing some humility???? He is right, to me RJJ just seemed to want to go twelve rounds. It was sad to watch the fight esp. all Joe's showboating which was way over the top and showed a lack of respect in my opinion.

Jones has had a long career I dont imagine needs the money and doesnt want to end up punchy.

Some commented that he may go the same way as Ali, which i dont think is necessarly an accurate description, Ali had a number of wars whereas Jones for the large part has had alot of "low risk, high reward" fights, also Ali even at the end, new the basics (as hopkins put it) Jones never has and has relied heavily on his speed (in the same way hamed did - and thats why he was found out by Barrera).

As has been stated Jones has a big enough name to go into promoting or maybe into commentary. I mean certainly in england his interviews were very different to his previous one he seemed to be more open... maybe because he needs them now whereas before he didnt.....
