    The records show this.

Hopkins embarassed Tarver, who dominated Roy 3 times (forget that gift decision the first time out, Roy lost)

Roy got KO'd by Johnson, a guy Hopkins TKO'd 10 years ago in his prime.

Roy couldn't finish off Tito, a guy Hopkins decimated 7 years ago in his prime.

Roy got ****d by Calzaghe, Calzaghe narrowly won a disputed SD over Hopkins.

All of Bernard's losses are razor thing decisions that could of gone either way, all of Roy's losses are embarassing one sides KO losses and 12 round beatdowns.

15 years later the debate is settled, Bernard Hopkins has his vindication in regards to Jones without even having to throw a punch at Roy.

No I don't think he would have. Calzaghe beat Roy with his workrate, those pity pat punches he would land in flurries is what over-whelmed Jones and scored points. Hopkins has a more limited workrate than Calzaghe, so I think the fight could maybe come easier for Roy.

Did you see Hopkins conditioning and workrate during the Pavlik and Tarver fights? Even against Calzaghe, Hopkins had a particularly high workrate, he just faded in the 10th.

Bernard just needs that motivation to get himself in that shape that he was for Kelly and Tarver. And against Roy, with a chance to avenge the only real loss of his career (by his own admission), he'd be equally fired up.

              Hopkins by TKO.

Of course as I said, there's no need to see it now anyway because history and records will tell who the better fighter was. And it wasn't Roy Jones Jr.

More naturally and athletically gifted? Sure. The greater legacy? Absolutely not.

Prime Roy could have nullified and countered those attack by JC.
JC was putting his face in front of Roy with his hands down, James Toney tried to do that and ends up in the canvass..

Roy's speed is way too far from what we used to see.. BHop is much smarter now, his reflexes didn't slows that much..

I hear what you guys are saying. But I think Jones could handle Hopkins style better than Tarver or Pavlik. Pavlik was like a sitting duck to Hopkins because he had never seen that style before (not to mention he had never fought at 170). I really thought Calzaghe's workrate and speed is what overwhelmed Jones. Sure Hopkins stamina was great against Pavlik, but I can't picture him throwing in flurries like Calzaghe had done against Jones.

Dude, Kelly fought Jermain the second time out at 166lbs and looked damn good there, the fight with Hopkins was only 4lbs north. You're stretching it.

Kelly will end up at 170 or 175 before his career is over anyway, his frame is entirely too big to be drained down to make 160.
