The reason why Shane wants and must beat Margarito

Because he's only lost to 3 fighters in his career. Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright and Miguel Cotto. He has already achieved some sort of solace for the losses to Vernon and Winky by knocking out thier conquerers, Mayorga and Vargas, respectively.

Right now, his consolation for the Miguel Cotto loss is Antonio Margarito. In beating Margarito, he’s not exactly getting revenge over Cotto, no. But it means so much more at this point in his career, IMO. He barely lost to Miguel; many thought he won. He’s not getting any younger. Miguel was destroyed at the hands of Margarito. Tony is the man at Welter right now. Shane gets more out of fighting Antonio Margarito.

    Discuss.

I thought the fight between Cotto and Shane could have went either way. if you socred the fight the way I did and gave Mosely the round she landed his over hand right in and backed Cotto up then Shane took it. if you gave those pick em rounds to Cotto then he edged out Shane. I think Mosely will do better against Marg then Cotto and could beat him. If he does then it speaks alot for Shane and maybe the June match up will be a rematch with Shane and Cotto rather then Cotto and marg who knows?

mosley is a warrior who wants to fight whoever is thought of as the best. if he wanted revenge he'd have just gone after cotto.

He knows that Cotto after coming off a loss to Marg aint gonna take a rematch with Shane right now. If Shane was to beat Cotto after this loss he would not get the credit for it. people would just say oh the Marg fight took alot out of Cotto and Shane took an easy fight and the easy way out. By going after marg he fights the best and will get all the credit in the world as long as he looks good in the fight if he wins well enough said. BIG UPSET! Then maybe a rematch with Cotto anyway in which he would get a chance to avenge his loss there and unify titles if Cotto take Berto's belt.
