Vivian Harris Nearly Stopped, Beats Narvaez in Six

In his first fight since being knocked out by Junior Witter last September, former WBA jr. welterweight champion Vivian Harris (24-3-1, 19KOs) was nearly knocked out for a second time at the Medieval Times Castle in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. [details]

Thats embarassing. As if getting knocked out by Carlos Maussa wasn't enough. Im starting to think Malignaggi would look like he had the punching power of Julian Jackson against Vivian Harris.

      ****. I didn't want to hear that.

I try to pattern bits of myself after Vivian and I've always liked his style. But getting floored twice by a journeyman? Hopefully he'll consider it a wake-up call not to sleep on ANYONE and come back harder.

Or to retire. That'd be okay in my books. He was a very good fighter, but no version of Vivian Harris should have to peel himself of the Canvas to not just beat a guy with a poor record, but a guy with a poor record who doesn't even have much experience!

I am hearing the stoppage was pre-mature aswell.

Damn that's just sad. I remember when he was a top fighter and in discussions to fight either Tszyu or Hatton. When I saw this picture I thought "Damn is that guy a flyweight" then to get dropped twice and almost stopped by Narvaez is just embarrassing.

Things happen. I don't think he should retire just yet. Test himself out with another step up and then go from there.

Any chance of the fight on youtube? Love to see it.

It sure looks like Harris is on a steady downslide.

I think that's a safe bet. But when boxing's his bread and butter he has to gather himself up and see if it's not too late to completely submerge and dedicate himself into boxing. He really has one more shot to get back to where he wants to be. He doesn't have Judah's fan base.

It is possible that it was partially to do with ring rust. I'd like to see him fight again in December.
