Yeah I know but I dont think that fight was good for boxing. I think Pac vs DeLahoya will be more competative, its really not a meaningful fight more of a showcase for 2 big names but while Im not crazy about it and know what Cotto is saying I dont think it has any negative impact on boxing.

        I agree and disagree.

I agree that De La Hoya should be picking on someone his own size. I agree that Pacquiao should stay within his own weight class realm.

I disagree with this fight hurting boxing. If anything more people will watch this fight because everyone knows who Pacquiao and De La Hoya are. i think it'll generate more money and politics and all that stuff.

I agree that De La Hoya should be fighting elite fighters in his weight class. BUT right now, De La Hoya is tryin to retire so i don't think that he wants to receive any more damage than he has to.

I disagree that Pacquiao isn't going to be a threat to DLH. Pacquiao's gonna give him a fight.

I think Tyson and Don King hurt boxing. I think the UFC hurt boxing.
Tyson hurt boxing? Tyson alone brought in thousands and thousands of fans to this great sport!!!! tyson is just as household name as de la hoya is!! go try it ask somebody if they know who mike tyson is.

BTW props to cotto for speaking up! reality is everyone knows he's right, my casual buddy (mma fan) told me the other day "boxing is a joke, last year dlh fights a small guy and puts us to sleep, now he's fighting a smaller guy and hoping he knocks him out to make up for the boring ass floyd fight" I responded with dlh is a *****, liar, and only out to make money. He does not respresent boxing, he represents money. For crying out loud his boss doesn't know **** about boxing he's an over seas banker that is taking care of the finicial part of the business he knows nothing about boxing. I also went on to say there has been many great fights the last two years that casuals wouldn't know about because they don't watch boxing enough. fuck you Oscar!

Wow, Cotto has been rather opinionated since his beat down at the hands of Margarito.

Seriously though, Cotto is right on the mark with his comments. Oscar clearly avoided Margarito and took a circus act of a fight that will make him so much damn money. Can you blame him? Hopefully he fights Margarito after Manny.

He says De La Hoya is avoiding the tough fights and instead makes Pacquiao, the current WBC lightweight champion, move up from 135 to 147 for a fight. [details]
I disagree, I like when fans are attracted to the sport through big events, and this is an event that will gurantee fireworks.
What was bad for boxing was Miguel Cotto getting knocked out by 5 loss Antionio Margarito...
