no fighter can be in his prime after a 15 year career, specially with the style of margarito

maybe they are talking about margarito's hype and not his actual boxing ability. williams shut down that hype machine.

Margarito is passed his luck. Cotto is going to win big.

What decline? What the hell are you talking about? He's been in his prime and he will be for a few more years. The only way someone at WW beats him is if they try to outbox him and survive and get the Decision. In other words run all night and Hold on for dear life, Because nobody at WW can stand toe 2toe with him.

                    honestly?
                    ok

I see prime maybe a little different than some in that I think prime is more than just wins or solely based on physicality its a combo of alot of things

in my honest opinion Margarito is at his peak when taking in all aspects of his boxing career. Some parts he may be a little past prime some at and some maybe even a little below prime but this is about as optimal as you get with him

Physically IMO he is a little past his best (IMO a stretch from about 2004 to about mid 2006). When I first started going to his camps some of the things he did then take a bit longer or more effort now. The nagging injuries he has had no are more present especially at the start of camps.

in terms of skill he is at his peak maybe even just below it. For so long his one style had been enough to where he could overwhelm opponents but there some subtle things he has learned along the way that have made him a better fighter overall and IMO he is still learning. For example, the side step move he used in the Cintron rematch is something he has been growing more confident in using.

in terms of status and big name wins, fights etc he is at his prime. His star status is about as high as you're going to get with him. The way he was treated at the Mosley Mayorga fight was mob like and very reminiscient of beloved fighters like Chavez and Morales when they walked into an arena
