Vitali Klitschko Returns, Makes Samuel Peter Blink

Vitali is the BEST Heavyweight!
Vitali made the overweight & out of shape Sam Peter look like an amateur. Total domination. Wald almost lost to Peter. Vitali has only lost 2 fights. BOTH fights were lost because of injury. He was beating Chris Byrd, but broke his shoulder during the fight and had to stop. He was ABSOLUTELY beating Lennox Lewis, but had to stop based on one of the worst eye injuries in the sport. If Vitali keeps fighting, he will have no problem with any heavyweight prospect currently out there. Incredible defense tonight. Sam Peter had no chance. The only way someone like Sam Peter could win is if he swarmed inside with a tremendous volume of punches and power shots. Sam was simply too out of shape to have even a remote chance of making this happen.

Sam Peter's a "New" School Heavyweight and he definitely showed it. Must give him some credit for giving the mountainous Vitali a shot at his Title. Not many people would jump in the ring with Vitali with 8oz gloves.
Some questions will be raised about Peter's heart as he said so himself that he would die in the ring rather than quit. He was the one who said to his corner that he wanted to quit with his face a mess.
James Toney ruined Samuel Peter over 24 rounds they met. The second time he ran from Toney after round 6 who's the former Middleweight remember. Mc Cline came very close to stopping Peter dropping him three times. I'd love to see Toney v Vitali once Toney KOs Thompson in December.

To denigrate the premier division in boxing just because we have 2 excellent and dominant Champions, who, moreover, are making boxing history, is wrong. We should encourage people to have a positive attitude towards them . What's not to like??
And, for the writer to intimate that Lennox Lewis was the dominant Champ, when he had avoided facing both Ruiz and Byrd, (who themselves turned into dominant Champs in their respective portions,) was wrong. It was not true. And we must also consider that the Klitschko Brothers, now so overwhelmingly dominant, were both dominant WBO Champs during that time, and Lewis persistently avoided them both. He only grudgingly agreed to face Vitaly Klitschko after blackmailing the promoter into adding a very hefty chunk of cash to his purse, as well as believing that with Klitschko training for a much lesser opponent than the WBC Heavyweight Champion, he would gas after a few rounds. And it was only a few days before the fight, without any time for Klitschko to change his training to face Lewis, and which, if cancelled would lose Lewis up to $20 mill. Do you recall how Manny Steward was urging him to force the pace from the very first second of the first rd.??
It was only a "miraculous" recommendation by the doctor, which saved Lewis's title. And there have been speculations that the doctor had a bet on Lewis, since his stoppage reason was not valid, and Klitschko won the last 2 rounds before the stoppage.
And the eyebrow cut was not hindering vision at all and had been completely under control since rd 4. No wonder that Klitschko was outraged, and kept calling Lewis out. He saw that Lewis barely tottered to his stool, and was confident that he was going to KO him in the next rd. As were many onlookers. Including me.

Because the ref was blind, as well as being a very poor ref (not only in this fight but generally) Peter was credited with 2 or maybe 3 rounds. Klitschko gave Peter a boxing lesson in all the rest. So how did he "almost" lose??
Peter has never been any more than a David Izon type slugger and brawler, with the disadbvantage that contrary to Izon, he has NO HEART. Izon, on the other hand, had superabundant bravery, would take enormous punishment for 8-9 rounds before his opponent would tire from pounding him, and collapse from an Izon punch, giving David the victory. These Phyrric victories, kept him in the rankings leaving him to make matches in which he was vastly overmatched. I used to cringe watching him, poor guy. I'll NEVER forget one fight, where he was bashed all around the ring for about 9 rounds, and managed to stop his opponent in the 10th. He then thrust his poor battwered face into the camera shouting,"I'm a condender, I'm a contender"... It only took another couple of fights to put him where he belonged, on the "refuse Dump".
Reaql boxing enthusiasts, who have memories, will know of whom and of what I speak.

Your comment that it was the worst "EYE" injury you've ever seen leads me to believe that you are either NOT a doctor, that is, a physician, and if you are, you qualified by a correspondence course not neccessitating any stint in an Accident/Outpatient's Ward. I believe they are called "Emergency Rooms" in America.
You are probably unaware that having been stitched up, the laceration was invisible even at close range, within 10 days. Klitschko showed his eyebrow in a closeup, on camera, just to prove it, 10 days after the fight.
