Win or LOse, Hopkins is the man and I'm definately tuning in. I still think he's gonna taste canvas atleast once in this fight and some bleeding might occur...but I still dont count him out. He knocked Calzaghe down in the 1st round and Cal is waaaay more technically sound then Pavilik.Comment

Bernard Hopkins' dedication to his craft is awe inspiring. there is no doubt hopkins takes every fight seriously.....he is one of, if not the most well prepared fighters in the sport.....he is supremely in shape for a fighter his age, and its awe-inspiring the way he has been able to fight as such a high level for so long. no doubt in my mind, pavlik would've been in serious trouble had this fight taken place when hopkins was 40!!! but as one of my favorite fighters, the bigger question before & during this fight will be, "will hopkins body b able respond to what his mind whats it to do...." if yes, he can win. if not, maybe this will be the indication that its time to hang 'em up.
i want hopkins to win, but judging by the last few performances (even tho i think he has won every fight) its troubling to see him not be able to capitalize on certain situations in the ring that he would've even a few years ago.....if he wins, great. if he loses, i'd rather see my man "blown out" cuz maybe then, he'll finally see its time to hang em up. a close fight will only motivate him to keep fighting, and although no1 can discredit him for being a 43 y.o. who can hang wit the best still, the older he gets, the worse his performances will too.......
i wanna see him go out w/ his dignity. win, lose or draw, i hope this is it.Comment

Hopkins has never been cut... Pavlik doesnt cut his opponents. Pavlik is a good fighter however he has to do something that doesn't happen and that is catch Hopkins with BIG PUNCHES... Tarver lost every round trying to do this and he's a better boxer than Pavlik.. this may be a blowout if Pavlik doesnt come in behind a jab. Keep in mind that Miranda and Taylor had MAJOR holes in their defense. Hopkins does not. People dont realize that it takes a great offense not just a big puncher to be effective against a defensive great. Thats why DLH couldnt beat Mayweather, that the reason Tarver couldnt beat Hopkins and unless Pavlik has learned to throw a combination there may be a lot of surprises come fight night.
Another scenario is that Hopkins performance against Pavlik is worst than his performance against Calzaghe. In both scenarios its not about Pavlik its about Hopkins. Its Hopkins fight to win or lose.

Pavlik ran through a hard punching but technically flawed Miranda and Taylor.. Hopkins can box. Pavlik? He can slug but can he box? Hopkins can. Calzaghe could so he beat Hopkins but can Pavlik? We shall see.
