The only thing Roy needs to target in 2009 is retirement.
Hey yo, I understand where you are coming from. My take on it is that Roy was gunshy in that fight and could have won easily. He landed everytime he acually threw punches. There has been 4 years now for him to recover and think about what happened and I think he is mentally over it enough to take Jonson to school and possibly TKO him.

It's a shame to watch RJJ trying to recover a little piece of his lost legacy. Especially for those of us who watched him 10 years ago and knew how spectacular he was. In his prime, he would have taken every one of these clowns to school.

Not that Tarver, Johnson, Dawson, Hopkins, Calzaghe, and Pavlik aren't great fighters, but Jones was just THAT good.

I'd love for RJ and Hopkins to win their fights and finish against each other, but I don't think Hopkins gets past Kelly. Roy should beat Joe C tho.

RJJ's legacy is already so impressive...where would he be on the ATG list if he rematched and beat Johnson and then another titlist?

The only way I see Calzaghe losing is if his hands are in bad shape. Wasn't the fight postponed because of Calzaghe's hands? Jones has a good chance of beating Calzaghe, if Calzaghe fights like he did against Hopkins. That wasn't Calzaghe at his usual self, I can see Jones winning depending if Calzaghe has regressed.

calzaghes not exactly dangerous.. aint i dont think he will apply the right kind of pressure.. he just slaps and misses, he dont throw big bombs, when roys against the ropes.... he arm punches, he wont crack roys jaw with them pillow fists

joe calzaghes chin is very overrated

after he beats joe he should fight hopkins....... then retire
You'd make a "cat laugh". it seems that Calzaghe has been the best 168lb champ in history by some trick, can't hurt anyone, so his 35 or so KO's are a mirage, and he hasn't really won 46 fights in a row, unbeaten during his boxing life with 21 title defences (except for a 3 rd amateur foght 19 years ago, when he was a kid of 15).

                  All a hoax.......................

If you could bottle your delusions you'd make a fortune from the druggies.

Probably at the very TOP. But actually his greatness doesn't depend on this. Therer are just some fighters, who, during certain periods in a champions boxing life that he won't or didn't beat. Without taking away any of his aura.

We actually KNOW, that he could have put Tarver away ion that 3rd fight, if he's taken the opportunity when he had it.

As for the first Trver fight, it was pure grit, because Jones had melted away 25 lbs of solid muscle, and"****** it up" and won. The second fight KO was the result of a Tarver "closed eyes" lucky punch, which, on 100 other occasions would probably have missed.

He should never have fought Johnson until his body had recovered, this was the result of his overwheening pride and ego.

Jones has shown us things in the ring that we didn't know were even possible.

                    Except in "SUPERMAN" comic books.

If Roy Jones ever beats Pavlik, it will be up there with the greatest upsets ever, like Ali-Foreman, Leonard-Halger, etc.
