Ooooo, I got a good one:

    Kendall Holt

Seems the kid has tremendous one punch KO power but only has an exact 50% KO ratio.

As said before, a lot of the old-time fighters.

For instance, Ray Robinson scored KOs in a little over 60% of his wins, which by today's standards wouldn't be that special.

But he was fighting so often, and carrying guys the distance on Mob orders as well.

Someone on here said Robbie Peden was a good puncher (Nate Campbell, lol) but his ratio is like 40 something percent.

Antonio Tarver, is a good puncher, but isn't known as a KO artist.

Any others you can think of? And why do these fighters have the ability to KO a guy with one shot, but have low KO ratios?
Most of it deals with the ability to land enough punches to stop their opponents.

Rocky Juarez can take out many fighters if he lands a perfectly placed left hook, but the hard part is landing that perfect shot. He hits hard, but he's too patient and waits too much for openings, instead of doing more to create an opening.

George Foreman always had heavy hands, but late in his career, he was rarely scoring KOs. He lacked the speed and "surprise factor" of some of the other big HW punchers, so he rarely scored one-punch KOs throughout his career. But every punch would hurt, as he was so damn heavy handed. As he got old, he just wasn't landing enough of these blows to score KOs.

I wonder about Antonio Tarver's power, and if it's fading. Throughout his career, his left hand power has always been very dangerous, but lately it's like it's diminished. Although he does through his arm flurries quite a bit, he's still landing some hard straight lefts, and it doesn't seem to hurt or truly discourage his opponents that much either.

I was about to bring up Robert Guerrero. You know, I was lucky enough to see his last two fights live. I watched him flatten Martin Honorio live at the Desert Diamond in Tucson and I seen him starch Jason Litzau live at the Tachi in Lemoore. The Ghost can crack.

That's true, however his KO percentage dropped after the Watson fight simply becuase he couldn't face hurting anyone badly again.

Timothy Bradley would have better power if he sat on his punches more, plays more of a tenacious boxer. Definitely not 1 punch KO though(guess that throws this out).

I agree with the Taylor being a very good exception, he had a very high KO percentage before he started fighting a lot of champs, Hopkins, Spinks(though small very durable), Wright, etc. Guy fought some solid guys by the time his KO percentage started to drop.

good call here. soto has severely underrated punching power, his ko %age does not reflect the scary reality of the stopping power of his fists!

                      Israel Vazquez.

                      Kofi Jantuah.
