he does deserve punishment though.. you can't just back out of a fight like that last minute and not expect reprocautions.

Make him do community service, talk to the children at schools. Help out at a aid walk or breast cancer walk him doing this will get publicity for where ever he is helping out. Why stop him from working or taking money from him? He fights for every dollar, with boxers its not just a saying but reality.

I come off like an *******? Guzman pulled out 2 hours before the fight, and cost Nate $400k. Should I be giving him a key to the city? A bravery merit badge? Citizen of the Year?

And FYI, I just spoke to the Miss. Commission. The Miss. doctor had in fact CLEARED Guzman to fight. Guzman himself chose not to fight. He will be given an indefinite "administrative" suspension, most likely for at minimum 1 year. Had the doctor NOT cleared him, the suspension would have been "medical" and not "administrative".

And we are filing suit against him for Nate's lost wages, plus whatever damages the court finds appropriate. That judgement will be on file with every commission, and if he ever fights in the US again, that judgement will have to be paid from his purse.

It sounds to me that he added too much muscle. ESPN article shortly before the fight quoted guzman saying he was doing strength training and lifting weights for the first time in his career. He was trying to become a bigger puncher for this fight. It sounds too me he added a bit too much muscle and underestimated how difficult it would be to shed the weight prior to the fight. Doesn't sound like he was fat/out of shape, just too big.
