You Guys Don't Know **** : Calzaghe Is Still In His Prime

Really i have heard it all. Everyone thinks a past-prime Calzaghe beat Kessler. So Kesslers ****.

Im amazed at the level of ******ity a majority of you posters have.

Lets get a few things straight here:

    1) Calzaghes win against Kessler was the best of his career. So how could he be past his prime? Considering that fight was only a year ago?

    2) No one looks good against Hopkins. Get real, Pavlik won't stop him. And the fight will be close. Joe did well against Hopkins, in a fight, that was a no win for him honestly. Because he was rated higher by fans before he beat Hopkins.

    3) Calzaghe is doing what no other fighter in the sport is doing today. He moved up a division, and took out the king pin. Pac Man, moved up again this year, and took down a very weak title holder in David Diaz. To a degree JMM did the same, Casamayor is not the fighter he once was.

So Calzaghe is the best from MW to LHW. Hes in his prime.

    And he deserves more respect.

Short memories everyone has! One bad performance against a guy who is impossible to look good against.

And Calzaghes undefeated record mean nothing. And hes ****!

no way is calzaghe in his prime u dummy.

he fought much better against lacy than kessler, his prime was 2001-2006

its impossible for a 36 year old to be in his prime unless he started boxing really late

        Your the dummy.

Unlike Lacy, Kessler can fight back.

I'm a fan of Calzaghe, and I don't think he's in his prime.

He's not the fighter he was when he fought Mitchell and Lacy.

can't really be in his prime after 45 fights at 36 yearss old, well over 20 years in boxing altogether and desperately fragile hands.

His strength is the stuff between the ears at this point, experience is so crucial, and Joe is a very wiley veteran who is supremely conditioned can adapt and change tact midfight.

um casamayor and de la hoya have just as much left in the tank (if not more) than hopkins and roy jones...

props to calzaghe but in my eyes, if pavlik wins and if calzaghe wins - calzaghe needs to fight pavlik before he retires because his legacy will always be questionable if he dodges kelly.

Couldn't have said it better myself, mentally he's at his peak, physically.. definitely not.

The tarver fight was one of Hopkins' biggest wins, as he in his prime at 40, moving up in weight? NO.

No they don't. But this is not proof as to why he isn't prime, he has slowed down a fraction, his power has slipped more.

What you don't get in, being "Past prime" doesn't mean he can't still be the best SMW, which he is. It means he had slipped, he isn't quite as good as he used to be. A bit slower, less powerful...he has slipped, not a lot but he has.

Is that Sutherland in your Avatar, out of the Britains and Ireland's boxers I'm pretty confident he will be the best pro. Dude hits like a train. Fights like Abraham.
