Well this is bad news for Valero, seeing as he just vacated the 130 lbs. WBA title to chase either an interim WBC belt at 135 (since Pac is fighting DLH) or this WBA belt that Barrera will now be fighting for...

MAB should fight soto. he doesnt want to get junior jones again though. its a horrible matchup for MAB.
not only did barrera duck soto once (After soto beat juarez and marco fought juarez instead of the winner), but then he he recently released that public statement advising pacquiao NOT to fight soto. he said "who is soto?" so not only does he duck this guy, but then he tries to take food out of his mouth. id love to see soto put mab back in retirement where he belongs.

I prefer Morales' exit from boxing. He gets totalled by Pacquiao in 3 rounds so he goes up to lightweight, takes on probably the least highly-regarded champion, but still one tough hombre in David Diaz - and fights his heart out til the end. Barrera instead ******ly fought Pac again - lost nearly every round, risking nothing, seeming satisfied not to be brutalized, and though he fared a little better against Marquez he still lost conclusively. In any case he's now what, around 34? And a 20 year veteran. Featherweights don't suddenly start turning around their careers in their thirties. Most are done by late twenties. Barrera had a fantastic run, he'll go down as one of the best Mexicans, one of the great little guys, it's truly a shame to see Don King sign up and the Barrera name to live on; upcoming fighters will profit from a W on their record next to the name Marco Antonio Barrera but the fire is gone in him.
