haven't seen any of virchis either but the wladguys says he's real good.

he has heavy hands and bigger than gomez.

as long as he's not a russian sinan samil sam he should win.

i can't get the yanqui diaz fight out of my head everytime i think of gomez......no matter how skilled he is......
Yeah, that was my thought too, when you mentioned the odds, but that's how people lose money...trying to qualify one loss into making another against a completely different fighter.

Haha. What Kilrain was saying is that you cannot just write Bernard off as an old man. He has other intangibles that make him more difficult than a typical 43 year old. Do you understand?

i don't know the wladguys got me thinking virchis will win with all their virchis is the hardest puncher in the world talk.

we'll see. juan carlos has gone nowhere in his heavy campaign.

he would've made more money fighting jirov or toney or haye......

I understand but still his age was a important factor in that fight the reason he faked those low blows maybe. Remember when Ali said in his last fight he was getting hit not because the guy was good but age had caught up to him. Hopkins was good in the opening rounds then faded off but still got a SD for his work.

Eubank was a fraud, and Calzaghe avoided fighters in their prime like Hopkins because they would have beat him up and there would have been no daylight robbery. legend killer my arse, RJJ would have decapitated him at any point before the 2nd Tarver fight.

The fact that people argue over who the hardiest fighter was/is explains it all. Grandpa Hop gave him a tough fight. You can watch Joe and his fathers face in the last few rounds and you will see a look of defeat. Joe didn't think he won anything that night. He was embarrassed and and knew he looked like a joke.

It would have been wrong for America to "give" Hop the win but the fact that one must defend his win by saying "he landed more punches than anyone else" does not prove that Joe was the winner or anything for that matter.

Joe in fact "landed" more "punches" but he played tag and "touched" Hop slightly more. A draw would have been more understanding but the outcome was the right one.

This "was" Joe's hardiest fight and "BEST" opponent in his entire career.

How was Eubank old at age 31? Joe is coming up on age 37 in a few months, is he old?

I know Eubank was shot after the beating he took from Joe, but he was not "old" when he fought Calzaghe.
