We all saw the replay and came away thinking Clottey earned a draw. Margs ear, nose, and lip were puffy and bleeding, his eye was swollen so we didn't think Margs won by 4 points on 2 cards and 11 on another lol. I'd look to see if I can get a Shane or Mayorga fight too if I had a choice to fight Williams or Clottey.
You know for a fact that Margarito comes on late, and Clottey was not going to win. So stop trying to use what others would incorrectly say to justify your arguments. You know for a fact that Margarito was going to become his usual whirlwind and overwhelm Clottey.
Also, Margarito admitted that he lost the Williams fight after rewatching the tape. Margarito outfought Williams wholistically, but considering it is scored round by round, the fact that he didn't get started until way too late means he lost the fight.
i know alot of things like that margarito is the baddest man in the planet and that he was going to knock cotto out. but most of the time people dont listen to me so if they say clottey was going to win easy then margarito has to prove them wrong.
margarito is a true mexican warrior but he also has the honor and dignity of a mexican fighter. he said williams won not to take credit from him but you know deep in his heart he felt he won the fight and he will beat williams in 2009 by ko.

The bolded part makes literally zero sense. He cried his eyes out about a robbery right after the fight, and then after watching the replay, he decided that he wasn't active enough in the early rounds and decided that Williams deserved the decision. That doesn't sound like someone who is worried about taking credit from someone else. If so, he would have saved himself from crying like a woman after the fight.
Also, I can understand if you are saying that according to everyone else's logic, Clottey is supposed to be a tougher fight, but it doesn't make any sense using things that you don't even believe to justify your overall point. You don't believe that Clottey was on his way to a decision victory on December 2, 2006 had he not hurt his hands. You have probably watched more Margarito fights than anyone else on this forum, and you know for a fact that Antonio Margarito looks bad in the first few rounds, and then comes on later, after they tire out a bit, to overwhelm his opponent to a decision win or a stoppage victory.
So, cut the bull****. You know that Williams is the tougher and more imperative fight at this moment in time.

if you want just my opinion i think clottey is a way tougher fighter. williams has no defense and he doesnt have the power to make margarito respect him. margarito just has to start throwing volume from the opening bell and its an easy win.
clottey is a great boxer with a good defense and i think his counterpunching will give margarito a ton of trouble.
You didn't even watch the fight. Someone told you Clottey was giving it to Margs early, so you went to a local Catholic church and prayed Margs won...lol

I guess that makes sense.
All Margarito has to do to beat Williams is be more accurate than Williams in my opinion. They both throw a ton, and Williams has less power, so I think Margarito will win a rematch with Williams.
I think Margarito beats Clottey easier though... while he does have good counter punching skills, he usually tries to wait until the original onslaught is done, and with Margarito, that doesn't come very often. Once he starts really going in the later rounds, Clottey is going to be blocking too much to get enough offense off to win enough rounds.
I personally think Margarito wins both, but I think he has a tougher time with Williams.
All I know is that Margarito-Williams II is going to be a BEAST of a fight if Margarito has the kind of punch output that he needs to have. Padilla-Oliveira watch out! Your record is getting broken!

...lol
I have seen the fight. Clottey looked good in the first four rounds, and then started covering up instead of fighting.

Clottey inflicted more damage than Williams. Williams won, Clottey lost...so they say. I'm going to be all over your arse until Margs fights Williams too you little punk lol.

No way that fight was a draw.
See, we agree...you didn't see the fight. You grabbed that cross of Jesus from around your neck, kissed it and said, "If there is a God in heaven, please...please give Margs the victory". Your prayers were answered with the ridiculous scoring of the fight. He gave it to Margs for the first 5 for the record.

Four or five... ****ing forgive me that I don't remember exactly how many rounds Clottey fought, I haven't seen it for a couple of months.
I have seen it (I mean, who the **** hears that Margarito threw 1,675 punches and doesn't immediately go to DL it?), and Clottey looked good. Everyone looks good against Margarito in the first few rounds. I didn't read too much into it.
And Clottey absolutely was covering up way too even have an argument for winning almost any of the later rounds.
Press row and the judges agree with me, so... don't act like I'm in the minority thinking that Margarito won. You are actually in the tiny minority of people who think anything other than a Margarito win.
EDIT: I'm agnostic and not a Margarito fan. I can't imagine why I would be grabbing a cross while praying for a Margarito win.
