Funny how the williams camp "doesnt want to talk about last year" "it doesn't matter who declined the rematch" All this crying and dying to make the fight i would think margarito is the one who won and williams wants the rematch. I understand that but Oscar has stated that there will be no fight between the two...So why not take the next biggest payday. We dont know if Oscar is pulling Margorito strings or what, but Oscar has made his statement regarding Margorito...Like I said earlier...I have no problem with Margorito himself...but some of his fans like Viva Mexico, and other delusional fans are being hypocrits.

Me personally..I would love to see Margorito get his bucks because he provided me with some good fights but I dont dig how some of the fans put him in a different standard. Thats the point I was stressing to the guy I quoted at first!

He's talking a lot about Oscar to see if he can lure him in, but all the indications are that they are negotiating a November 1st date with Clottey, which wouldn't even interfere with the early 2009 proposed date for the Williams fight by Goosen.

You can't blame him for trying to fight Oscar before he goes, especially since they have made it clear that Oscar is their priority at the moment but that he has plans to fight the other champs at 147 who will still be around.

I don't think the standards are different, the situation is. Floyd never fought Tony, he will never fight Tony. In fact he never really fought the elite welters before retiring and after fighting Oscar, Tony will not do the same thing.

I don't think anyone can deny that if both guys win versus whoever they fight in late 08 the fight comes of in 2009 no matter what, because Berto sure as hell isn't stepping up to these guys yet.

Williams will probably fight Jennings in November, according to Goosens proposed deal. And Berto won't step up until late 2009 at the earliest because big, bad, Forbes earned his shot for going the distance with goldy locks.

And yeah, race is too much of an issue for a lot of posters on here.

Not once have I critizied Margorito for trying to fight Oscar....He's entitled to get his high-dollar fight...Every boxer thats ever laced up a pair of glove are entitled to their big money fight!
