We dont know if Oscar is pulling Margorito strings or what, but Oscar has made his statement regarding Margorito...Like I said earlier...I have no problem with Margorito himself...but some of his fans like Viva Mexico, and other delusional fans are being hypocrits.
Me personally..I would love to see Margorito get his bucks because he provided me with some good fights but I dont dig how some of the fans put him in a different standard. Thats the point I was stressing to the guy I quoted at first!
You can't blame him for trying to fight Oscar before he goes, especially since they have made it clear that Oscar is their priority at the moment but that he has plans to fight the other champs at 147 who will still be around.
I don't think the standards are different, the situation is. Floyd never fought Tony, he will never fight Tony. In fact he never really fought the elite welters before retiring and after fighting Oscar, Tony will not do the same thing.
I don't think anyone can deny that if both guys win versus whoever they fight in late 08 the fight comes of in 2009 no matter what, because Berto sure as hell isn't stepping up to these guys yet.

Yall taking this nationalism **** a bit 2 far! You know who you are! The race remarks and all are pretty cowardly IMO! No of you keyboard killers would dare mumble those words in front of PW or anyone else so chill out! As far as the article goes, like real boxing fans i'm tired of all the talk. PW aint getting a Margie and fight and Margie ain't getting an Oscar fight so lets move on with future bouts. Clottey vs Margie should be interesting if he is healthy. If PW doesn't go after Berto(too green) then get a 154 title shot against the winner of Forrest vs Mora. Get used to seeing consistent ducking by your favorite boxer in order to get the most money for the least amount of risk. Thats the cost of doing bizness.

And yeah, race is too much of an issue for a lot of posters on here.

I thinkg you're missing point on the whole Mayweather situation..I personally wished he would have fought him or Cotto. Its nothing we can do about that! I'm just using someone standard that someone used on Mayweather (Viva Mexico, Elgranluchardor, Ferocity, Cmongmang, and others) to critize him for getting big money fights...Now that Margorito is doing the same thing that Mayweather did...its OK...I dont buy that one man...It should be like that with every fighter instead of critizing one fighter for doing it and give a pass for another fighter to do...Do you see the my point now?

I dont mind margarito doing what hes doing, this is about money, fighters have assets to protect, and value that goes along with those assets, these things happen, but it was the rampant "COWARD, *****, *****" etc that makes me laugh at all of the margarito fans talking about "stepping up ppv game" and "who is paul williams?"
The difference between Tony and Floyd,
Tony has already fought those guys many here claim he is ducking.
Again, I'd rather see Tony fight Paul first but I'm going to throw a Mayweather spin on it.
Let Paul beat some of the same guys Tony has,
to build up the fight.
Isn't that what you Mayweather guzzlers were saying about anyone versus Floyd?

Tony already fought, Paul, Clottey and Cotto.
Mayweather was afraid to.
See the difference?

Paul BEAT Marg, has a belt, and is calling him out, that's enough, and won't make sense for Paul to just fight the same fighters Marg has just to get a fight with him, when he already BEAT him already.
