Margarito Swings Back at De La Hoya, Answers Williams

By Rick Reeno - After reading some of the recent comments made by Oscar De La Hoya, WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito, and co-manager Sergio Diaz, contacted krikya360.com and were more than happy to counter. During a recent ESPN Radio interview, De La Hoya would state his case on why he was refusing to accept Margarito's challenge. According to De La Hoya, Margarito has "unfinished business" that he needs to clear up with Paul Williams, the current WBO welterweight champion. De La Hoya feels that Williams is being disrespected when Margarito is labeled as "the best welterweight" in the sport.

"First of all, Antonio Margarito had a great win against Miguel Cotto. That's wonderful for him. I wish him all the best and I've always prided myself on fighting everybody. Fighting the best from Bernard Hopkins to Floyd Mayweather. I just feel personally that Antonio Margarito has some unfinished business to take care of against Paul Williams. I just felt it's disrespectful to Paul Williams to call Antonio Margarito the best welterweight out there. We can not forget about Paul Williams. That's just the way I feel," De La Hoya said. DLH said something that was true. Like I've been saying, Margarito ain't the best WW untill he avenge his lost to Paul Williams.

Good ****in read. Very thorough. **** DLH. He's bein a *****. Tony shouldn't bother worryin about him anymore. He ain't fightin for glory anymore, just $. Let him retire. The biggest fight for the WW's is still the Marg-Williams rematch.

Lol. I don't remember any talks of Maragrito-Williams 2 before the Quintana fight. How convinent that this came up.

I find DLH's answer even funnier though.

"I don't want to screw Williams" What about screwing marquez?

I swear I remember Bob Arum saying there would be no rematch between Margarito and Williams shortly after that fight.

It is still an excuse from Oscar because Paul Williams has nothing to do with a Margarito-DLH fight but most of that stuff about Paul Williams is spin and nothing more.

I can't wait to hear what Goosen and Williams have to say lol. This only tells one side of the story. As far as what Dlh promised...get over it, he is old. No sane fan will ever think Dlh is scared of Margs. People want to see this fight at 147?? lol. Now Margs has to find a different opponent. I want to see what Williams has to say about Margs wanting an immediate rematch after their fight. This sound like Diaz talking, and then Margs jumping in and saying "YEAH"! lol. Now lets see what Williams has to say in defense of what I think are truth mixed with lies. The Quintana part of the article doesn't make sense. I have to hear from Goosen, Haymon, Williams and his people.
