Hopkins gets discredited for fighter smaller guys, yet Margarito does get not get discredited. We all know this man should be fighting at 154 or 160. But never have the balls to even dare about fighting at 160. He would be to slow and his punches won’t faze 154 or 160 as it does for 147.

yup and he got whupped... Margarito's style is based on him being bigger and tougher than his opponent... at 154+ Margarito loses all his advantages.

If Margarito can make the weight, then he deserves to be at WW. Tommy Hearns definitely deserved all of the credentials he earned when he fought at WW.

So I guess you think Paul Williams is a perfect fit at 147? Boxers always fight at the lowest weight they can be effective at. Your post was embarrassing to read.

You must of not seen his fights because margarito has never been whupped! Maybe outpointed by a point or two but never whupped.

Williams shouldn’t be fighting at 147 as well. It takes more balls and skill to move up weight than weight drain yourself against smaller opponents. I would love to see Margarito fight at 160.

That is 1 of the many reasons they are both going to the Hall of Fame. So many of the Margaritas now claim that Margarito is the greatest WW of this era despite his 5 losses & UD loss to another current WW title holder.

The 1st time Margarito moved up in weight he experienced yet another loss. Margarito is almost 6ft tall & walks around well over the 147 WW limit. Does anyone actually think he actually has the balls to move up in weight again to add to his legacy? Or will he camp out at WW for the rest of his career?
He already moved up from 135...

He didn't embarrass himself at all. Williams could have had that fight with Pavlik, but he priced himself out of it. Unlike you I don't give credit to fighters who talk about moving up, just the ones who actually do.
Scott, you make a good point, but Williams deserved to be paid what he asked for considering the risk. The ecomnomics of this fight could've given Williams what he wanted. Arum is scum.

Hell no, Santos got the at home decision, Margs beats Oscar because Oscar is to rich, to old, and to business man like to be willing to get beat up for a win. And as much as I like Sergio, Margs beats him too. Mora doesnt have the power to keep Margs off of him.
