Is it bad to root for fighters of your nationality?!?

I am a mexican american and i back all the mexican fighters in boxing today. I love what they give to the sport. Real warriors. Is there anything wrong with this? I seen people get mad because mexicans root for margarito only because he is mexican. Along with Pacquiao with the filipinos, just some examples I dont get it. What is wrong with rooting and defending your nationality?

Apparently it is, but I know I will always back up Puerto Rican fighters no matter what. It is supposedly "biased" because the fighter is your country man but I say to hell with being "biased" I want to support the fighters from Puerto Rico.

It was pretty bad..... Nate Campbell hit him with alot of hard shots throughout the entire fight. Juan's face was in bad shape and Im sure his confidence was shot... I hope he comes back strong.

I root for all my Boricuas first, then any latino behind my island, then the best fighter regardless of nationality. Once in a while just for a good fight if I like both fighters like when Clottey vs Judah happened this weekend.

There is absolutely no problem with it. I have done it myself. I doubt I would have been much of a fan of the likes of Kostya Tzsyu and Paul Briggs if I wasn't an Aussie, hell, I even barrack for Mundine when he fights. What annoys me is when it goes beyond simply supporting and gets ridiculous, like saying Margarito would KO Thomas Hearns. That is the kind of crap that annoys me.
