Castillo looked dazed and confused at times, because he couldn't stop Casamayor's rhythm.

I can't remember which half was dominated by which, any help?
I'm gonna have to rewatch that, huge Casamayor fan. I wasn't a fan from the start but I looked at his much older stuff and then became a fan recently. I had Casamayor winning that, but I'll give you my scorecard on that once I rewatch. Joel's problem was that he would take rounds off, personally I still think he's great

He took wayyyyyyyyyyyy too many rounds to figure out his opponent's style, putting him in a very deep hole. That Freitas fight should have been a face crush, but he gave away so many early rounds. Those bull**** point deductions didn't help much either.

Casamayor fought a very boring style, but it was very effective. He did get hit an awful lot for being such a slick operator though.

Huge fan of Castillo but I might have to disagree simply because he arguably lost against Johnston and Casamayor, two really close fights.

Yeah I like Casamayor, but he does fight to the level of his competition, kinda like James Toney would at times.

If you do that, you have to give some credence to his fight against Mayweather the first time...

I thought he beat Mayweather and lost to Casamayor, but... I don't think there are any SUPER GLARING robberies, so I just kind of accept his record as is.

Good competition, no doubt, be look how many of those he lost.

Corrales' was more impressive to me

Lost to Mayweather and Casamayor (both fights stopped with Corrales wanting to continue) but beat Casamayor in the rematch, then Freitas (undefeated), then Castillo

Castillo was never dominated at least... the Mayweather-Corrales fiasco hurts him a lot I think.

Casamayor also took two of three from him.

It's close, but I do feel like the underrated wins of Julio Diaz and Juan Lazcano (who was a favorite for some insane reason) put Castillo about Corrales in the resume category.

The same way I cant give Castillo overbearing credit for those wins because they were either way I have to give the same judgement for the Mayweather fight. Floyd had a torn rotator cuff and cracked ribs going into the fight, it was obvious he wasnt himself and said it in the corner after the first round about the rotator cuff, nobody ever brings up the reason thats why that fight was as close as it was, mostly Floyd haters, not saying you are one I dont think you are anyway.

I always point that out. And it's pretty obvious by how one-sided the rematch was that Mayweather would never struggle with Castillo barring those problems.

Most fighters aren't their best for any fight. There is always an excuse. I do think Floyd's were more pronounced in that fight, seeing as how he kicked ass in the rematch, but...

Yeah, it has to be one way or the other. You either count them as absolute wins and losses, or... you have to call into question the Mayweather loss, Johnston win (which I know nothing about... haven't seen either fight) and Casamayor win.
