I always thought Floyd would beat Cotto, he is just superior in absolutely every department IMO.

Before the fight there was a poll for Cotto vs Williams and I voted for Cotto to win. That might have to be revised now. Cotto, has hard as he fought, was shown to have some fairly sizeable limitations I think. I believe that a Cotto-Williams matchup would pretty much be a pick'em fight. Williams can definately hurt Cotto badly, of that there is now no doubt.

I thought Cotto was clearly ahead. I gave Cotto the first 6 rounds. ****, I think I'd only given Margarito two rounds going into the 11th.

So if judges are going to give Margarito points for coming forward and getting hit, then yeah I wouldn't want to put my undefeated record up there for some judge to take away because I think that's criminal that the judges had it scored that way. I was laughing Lederman's card off as usual, but somehow the judges agreed with him.
hmmm... I thought cotto was winning most of the rounds because of the clean flush shots he was landing over and over again.

Well as long as DiegoFuego has discredited me, there should be no pressure on me to word things perfectly.

What Cotto, Margarito and Williams do is not always pretty, but it's effective. They're very strong, prime fighters. I can't think of a prime fighter that Mayweather has fought since moving to welterweight.

Baldomir was on top at the time, but he was old and slow as hell. My friend who was a pro in Argentina and used to train with him thought he had retired before fighting Judah.

        Zab Judah had just lost.

De La Hoya was 34 years old and was holding on to a belt that he won by knocking out Mayorga, who was smoking cigarettes on fight night.

What I'm saying is that if Mayweather wanted to fight these guys, he would have. But he didn't.

I never said he wanted to fight them. Without a monetary incentive, there's no reason to. He wanted the De La Hoya fight his whole career, so there's nothing wrong with him chasing the money. Every boxer's goal is to face Oscar De La Hoya. He wanted to be the linear champ at 147 before moving up so he fought Baldomir for the same amount of money as he was going to get for fighting the WBO champ. not to mention everybody was giving him **** for not winning the linear title at 140 (even though Hatton was too scared to face him). show me a bad move he's made.

It's funny how everyone tries to act as Mayweather's manager, you can't make the same judgments from that perspective that you can from an objective one.

If you use the DLH payday as the benchmark to live by, then no fight can achieve that. But a fight with Margarito will definitely garner a bigger payday now then it did before. Mayweather would correct a lot of negative perceptions about him by fighting Margarito now, but I don't think he will.

                Styles makes fights.

Mayweather isnt so good against a counter puncher like Cotto

Cotto isnt so good being pressurd by a Margarito who can eat shots to the dome like warm churros

Paul Williams who is busy as all hell isnt good with a Margarito who can be stopped by a hard working puncher who has more reach.

williams gets hit just as much as margarito does., his defense is awful. the difference is i dont think williams will be able to take the 3 and 4 punch combos with bad intentions from cotto the same way margarito did. tony walked thru hell in that fight and williams would have to do the same thing, i don't think he can.
