    Mosley nearly had Cotto quit

I think a lot of staunch Cotto supporters convinced themselves that Cotto wasn't hurt in the Mosley fight because of his post-fight denial but his behaviour in the latter rounds was very similar to when he was forced to retire by Margarito. In my opinion Mosley had Cotto hurt quite badly and close to quitting, if he had applied more pressure he may very well have forced the stoppage the same way Margarito did.

Only problem was that Shane didn't let his hands go. He may have been dropped.

SSM don't got as much power as Tony. He had in in the same predicament but didn't have the pop to finish him. Cotto wasn't severely hurt against Shane, but he was hurt and tired near the end, which usually means KO. Shane just couldn't finish him when he had the chance.

True it could have happened but I think it would have been more likely Cotto would have been dropped because he was the only one visibly hurt in that fight.

It's like he froze when he had the opportunity, he was concentrating too much on defense, even when he had Cotto backed up against the ropes but I guess that was partly due to Cotto's good counter-punching which ultimately didn't faze Margarito who kept his focus resulting in the stoppage.

mosley never had cotto hurt to the point of cotto wanting to quit, but cotto was gassed against mosley. mosley just couldn't put the kind of pressure that margarito did.
