Roy Jones Jr: "Calzaghe Fight, Two Titles on November 8"

“It sounds to me as though Joe has a normal and usual injury. He had shown some concern recently about his hand not being ready. I still wanted to move forward with the September date, since HBO had already laid out the red carpet for a pay-per-view success when we took the De La Hoya-Mayweather date. But I don’t want him to be no less that his best – so if this is what it takes for that, then so be it.” [details]

It's happened before, it would make the fight even more significant for Jones and could give him a slight advantage if Calzaghe struggles to make weight.

If Calzaghe thinks there is any chance that he will struggle to make 168 or that it might give Roy some kind of advantage he will not do it. Nor should he it would be ******.

Now wheres the people that say "I honestly think that, Roy doesnt think he can win"

IF that was so, and Roy didnt think he could win... whats the point of this? besides paying more sanctioning fees? EXACTLY.

That's an if because as Jones said, this gives Calzaghe an extra 7 weeks, it'd make the fight bigger which could make Calzaghe more money because he's promoting the event and Jones wouldn't make 168 too easily either.

I don't think Jones would take a fight that he doesn't think he's going to win, so he's confident of victory.
