Calzaghe never ducked Pavlik. If Pavlik wanted to fight Cal, he should've went to 175. Arum promotes Pavlik so why else would that sorry sack of **** say what he said. Arum mentioning HBO should "force anyone" is absurd, and an insult to boxing. Arum never spoke to Abraham's people to side step Marquez so that PAv and Abraham can get it on. As long as Arum can put his fighters in with beatable comp, he will milk them until they are forced to fight someone with a pulse. The sooner Arum is out of boxing, the better.

always haters
now joe ducks pavlick. they said joe ducked jones, and hopkins. if they would fight, joe would whip cement feet pavlick and then you'd say he's ducking David Haye. it will never stop. 39-0, the guy could fight who he wants. might as well say tha cotto ducked so many too. fighting a junior welterweight in judah, Alfonso Gomez...what joke that was. seriously, PPV numbers. alot more buys if it's jones vs joe, ALOT more. i even believe there is higher risk in this one because jones only has to be a shade of his old self to be dominent. But you guys will say jones was overated, never fought anybody. you're maybe right. the only recognized pound for pound fighter for like 5 years in a row. Make some money boys, have fun and don't get hurt, you can replace lampley anytime on HBO.

WESS, you really must stop talking about what you clearly don't know about, and just assume to suite your bias.

Arum is funny
Arum is criticizing HBO for not ordering Calzaghe/Pavlik, so now he counters by having his man fight someone who is much smaller than he is?
Pavlik is a huge middleweight. By the time he enters the ring, he is a light heavyweight. Paul Williams will be right around 160 on the night of the fight. While I like both fighters, I don't like the fight. Pavlik should knockout Williams.
If Williams took a couple of fights at middleweight, and got used to the added weight, then this would be a competitive fight. As of right now, I view this as nothing more than an execution to help raise Pavlik's stock.
That is the real problem with boxing. Arum did the same thing with De La Hoya. He had him fight a bunch of people smaller than him to gain him more fame.
Pavlik should be fighting other the other middleweight champions like Abraham, and Stern. Or, he could fight Kessler, which would be an entertaining fight.
