    Boof,

The worst thing that has happened to black Americans over the past forty years is not racism, although you could point to specific incidences to try and argue that the real detriment to African Americans has been the adoption of the victim mentality by a majority of the black culture. There is a major difference between being a victim and living in the victim mentality. The victim understands that cruelties have been committed against him. But rather than wallow in self-pity, he gets up, brushes himself off, and seeks to move on with his life. Those that choose to hold on to the “victimization” mentality are left in a state of self-imposed bondage from which no one can free him.

    True or False?

Black people have over come so much in America.. I dont think they are living in the victim mentality as a whole.

As a RESULT of SLAVERY, there are a lot of poor black communities in this country still....unless you have walked in another man's shoes, you cannot judge him.

          I'm white.

I got an opinion regarding the race-issue.

I think the race card is played much, much too often. So often I'm getting quite sick of it. So many threads with racial issues pollute NSB at the moment. Maybe it's because of Floyd Mayweathers remarks. Regardless. I'm sick of it.

Why cant ppl just not realize that this is an INTERNET-board and we are posters. We cannot see the person we are arguing. And it really shouldn't make a difference. Back up your opinions with facts and I'll be happy but perhaps disagreeing. Back up your opinions with racial allegations and I'll pass your post by regardless of the allegations being towards whites, blacks, yellows Italians or whatever.

I hope this recent trend of racial issues spamming this board soon fades away, and I'll expect it as soon as the Floyd race-drama has lost it's breaking-news appeal.

That quote isn't meant to generalize African Americans entirely.

Even more interesting, it was written by a black woman.

My grandparents came to the US to escape the enslavement of communism. They barely spoke a word of English when they arrived and had no money. Yet they worked hard and overcame, raised my father and put him through college, and were quite prosperous later in life.

I think there are too many whiners and crybabies who have no idea of how good they have it in America.

We have many people speaking up on the issues wrong with the black community. They agree and disgree with each other. I'm with BatTheman, lets just talk boxing. If I ever had to give one reason why black people think the way they do, it is because poverty has never been dealt with since slavery. Never mind who we think are holding black people back. Poverty has not been solved. People, not just black folk... are starving, and without homes with running water or electricty. you will do anything to feed your kids or take care of yourself. This is my last post on the subject of race. Back to boxing.

its been like this since i got here. except, when i got here, it was pac vs mexicans. the whole black thing didint start until id say much recently probably within the year. there have been alot of extremist pro black posters coming out of the woodwork, moreso now than ever. pretty much, im going to have to say that lately, blacks, whites, asians, latins have all been equally fueling the fire to some of the most racist posts i have ever seen on here in a long time. one person starts a racist thread, another counters with his, another counters with his.

Overall the quality of the board lately has been at its lowest. With mayweather saying what hes saying, wright joining him, and then the leigons of fans who then condemn it, BUT THEN, proceed to hate on black people, while bigging up their own race and culture, its creating an endless cycle of garbage.

I tell you what’s so funny. A person who grandparents come from Europe three generations ago will be called Americans, while a black person who ancestor have been there over 350 years will always been labelled African-American. Who has the more right to be called American?
