Last night was another proof that MMA has definitely taken the spotlight from boxing.

Last week I went to a bar, the only bar, that was showing the PAC - Diaz fight. And only handful of of boxing fans turned out(mostly Filipinos and Mexicans).

Last night, I walked around and saw that there were several bars that was carrying UFC 86. And every single one of 'em was at its full capacity. So I ended up watching the fight at the same bar I saw the PAC - Diaz PPV. Another difference I saw, was that MMA fights tend to attract a more diverse crowd.

In today's boxing, only DLH and the now retired Floyd could have fans showing to see a fight at a bar. But the UFC has had this trend going on for a few years now with various fighters.

I don't hate MMA, I like Jackson ... But haven't you ever stopped and thought about the rest of the world? However big MMA is in America, It isn't a worldwide sport.

Manny isnt popular enough to keep the sport where it grew with Mayweather. The HW division needs to step up, but at the same time boxing will always be around, there are too many true fans.

UFC has problems keeping stars and cannot seem to keep good relationships with it's fighters.

You know whats really ****ed up? The exact opposite happened to me. Last week the bars were packed for the Diaz-Pac fight. This week they had the MMA PPV, every place was dead. Who woulda thunk it!

MMA is a threat; I don't understand why boxing fans don't see this. Both sport can’t survive with each other, so one must go.

The heavyweight division is the key for boxing, but the way the division is going doesn’t look like it will help boxing anytime soon.

No worries, they are all just casual fans who think they're gonna see a massive KO and then have to watch two guys resting on the mat for an entire round. The only cool part about it is the stand up game because it's like boxing without gloves, but the technique is so poor it's hard to watch. Our generation is just fascinated with it because it's everything that the WWF and WCW wasn't when we were younger. Period.

Sounds like a business to me. That's the thing with the UFC, they're practically the only game in town. Boxers jump from promoter to promoter, but, it takes awhile for the great matchups to take place. ie Top Rank vs. GBP, enuff said! ****, you gonna tell me that DK, Arum and numerous other boxing promoters haven't had any problems with their fighters leaving them!? That's why Gary Shaw is doing EliteXC these days, 'cause he screwed all his boxers over. How many times has DK and Arum been taken to court by their fighters?

The bar by my bros place, in NYC, which is very popular, was packed for the Jackson fight last night AND for the Pacquiao-Diaz fight as well.

For DLH-MAYWEATHER, the crowd poured WELL into the streets. I have never seen an MMA fight do anything close to that

More fight fans = More boxing fans

Jackson vs Forrest was pretty much a boxing match 80% of the time, once these MMA fighters learn the stand up the fights will almost always be standing. Who wants to be smelling a guys nutsack while he lays on you, when you can stand with him and knock him out.

Penn vs Serra = Boxing 95% of the time

Boxing will never die no matter what happens, MMA is not a threat.

                    Different sports.
