Ohhhhhh. HBO was NOT complimentary to Roy. talent? yes. Overall? no.

Forrest didn't fight enough on HBO to really make a dent. Lennox was inconsistent. Shane got pretty consistent praise.

Question: are you saying that guys like Gatti, Litzau, Wlad and Katsidis didn't get knobslobbed even though they were getting knocked out left and right?

I strongly disagree with the reasons you pointed out for the racism but I wouldn't disagree that they aren't atleast SOMEWHAT racist just as much as you (a black person I presume) would be if you commentated.

I don't think they are boosting Pavlik or Calzaghe anymore than they boosted Zab when he was the undeafeted champ and they do give mayweather his props but they just dislike his defensive fighting for the fans sake. they know that the casual know-nothing fan(who makes up a big chunk of the revenue in this sport) will not enjoy mayweather's style of fighting and might be turned off to it so they just say that stuff in order to prevent future young boxers to emulate that style.

I mean, tyson, holyfield were beloved by the commentators in their primes. and klitschko the current WHITE hw champ is far from being boosted by the commentators as much as he should be for being the #1 hw in the world so, I think this type of thinking is utter BS.

Did Litzau even get onto HBO? Gatti was a throwback fighter and old white men like nothing better than a throwback fighter, someone who has a tendency to come back from punishment to win. Katsidis is in the same mould, he's fun to watch and good for ratings.

Wlad may be fairly tedious but crucially he doesn't ***** about how unfairly he is being treated all the time.
