Pacman & Arum are copying Mayweather's blueprint for success.

Mayweather challenged Baldomir, the titleholder who was slow and weak and was completely dominated by Mayweather------> Pacman challenges Diaz, titleholder slow and weak and dominates him

Mayweather moved up to welterweight to get his dream fight against De La Hoya 1 weight class higher--------> Pacman plans to move up 1 class higher to fight Hatton

Neither of em care about the B rate fighters in their divison or the guys who moved up in hopes of facing them in the future, who stay fighting amongst themselves unsuccessfully chasing the A list fighter. Except with Bob Arum on his side, you wont hear anybody saying Pacman is "ducking"

You have a point. But you can't blame them for doing so. When a fighter moves up he does it for the money, he will use his name to get one or two big fights with selected people, it's not like the old days when fighters went up and STAYED there DEFENDING the titles they would get. History thought them that only leads to DEFEAT, eventually. The modern fighters also observed how people like Hoya, Jones, Hollifield sold their legacies for money and witnessed the long term effects of doing so (compare public oppinion of Tyson and Lewis). Until boxing's rules change we are stuck with this.

Im not blaming them I think its smart. No reason to waste energy cleaning house, instead just make the big fights happen. 135 has good names but lets be honest no one besides Marquez has the power and speed to beat Pacman.

He can copy blueprints as much as they want...we just all want to see Pacquiao fight and KO whoever...........unlike Mayweather.

Cleaning house should be priority #1 since its very rare to see nowadays and very few have the talent to do so. Its what leads to fighters being called throwbacks and stacked up against the greats.

Thing is, cleaning house doesn't bring you the most money. And if you could make 30 million in a year would you rather make 5 million and fight lesser known stars? No, and neither do fighters. I would certainly take the 30 million, it's a no brainer really when you're in a job requiring you to risk your life!

Being the highest paid fighter in the game not monikered "golden boy" lives in a country where the average annual income is $1000/yr. He could retire now and still be financially secure for the rest of his life. So the fact that he's still active says him wanting hatton....money wont be the motivating factor in making it happen.

The reason people didn't like mayweather was because he alway promised to come out swinging and make it an exciting fight and he didn't do ****. And the garbage that spewed from his mouth...i don't miss him.
Manny on the other hand doesn't have to say anything, he comes across as a decent humble guy that always brings the goods.
