This is a little outside the box...but this board is starting to get redundant. Just trying to mix it up and talk about something different although theres a floyd post every page.lol

Armstrong's three titles were all linear and would have spanned six divisions in the modern era. I do not think Floyd's body would hold up attempting to do the same, even were he younger. He had to build himself up into the higher weights.

Somebody may think im a little crazy with this one....but i really believe floyd could easily make 135 beat a david diaz/nate cambell for the title come back in 4 months beat a malinaggi/torres or tim bradly easily while still holding his welterweight belt(if he hadnt vacated it). Hell i could even see him getting to 150 and outpointing any of the light middleweight champs.

How many other boxers could you say that of in the histroy of the sport. For most it would take a year or two just to adjust to the weight class.

Reason why i believe floyd could do it
1.comes in around 145-147 on fight night without even trying to drop weight. Also he has never struggled even at 130 to make the weight.

        2. Is crafty and skillfull enough to easily outpoint anyone at 154 while being undersized. All he would have to do is get around 149-150 to fight at that class

        3. He would basically walked through any lightweight/light welterweight without getting hurt. It would basically be a sparring match for him. IF he wanted to he could fight 3-4 months between getting titles seeing he wouldnt suffer damage with his defensive style and could just outpoint or knockout the smaller guys.

I dont know board what do you guys think. Although floyd will never try something like this....i could easily see him doing it. (Just have a 3-4 fight year).
If Floyd accomplished all this,he would still be hated! Think about it. The man already is a 6 time world champion in five different weight classes. The only fighter that came close to beating him got a rematch right after.Everyone in here said Hatton had the style to beat him and Delahoya would be to big!The man was unbeatable at 130!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It wouldn't be like Armstrong because like Tengoshi said, Armstrong held all the linear titles and would span 6 weight classes today.

naah...he won what would have been fw at 126 then what would have been jw at 138 fighting barny ross who came in around 140. Then he won what would have been lightweight around 135. So in reality he would have actually held 4 titles at once 126,130, 135,140 (seeing he found like 14-21 times during that span). He did beat some of those guys weighing around the 130 mark so if there was a title to that class he would have won it also.

actually after his fight at 135 he was unable to make fw so he had to drop that title. Also he couldnt have made what would be modern day 147 at the time because he had to drink beer and do all type of **** before his welterweight fight just to barely get to the minimal weight of 138. So at the most it would have been 4....something floyd mayweather (if active enough and went a while without defend titles) could easily do.

Win 135,140,147 and then get to 150 and outpoint any of the junior middle with champs. Probable would take a year to a year a few months to accomplish. There isnt a boxer outside of armstrong in the history of the sport you can say that of.
