You nailed it. This "coward" bull**** is de****able.

Different eras and different sized fighters.
Mayweather does not have to beat a 6'2 power punching Pavlik or the lineal light heavyweight champion for his achievements to sit very respectably alongside the achievements of Robinson.

When you look at where they started their careers, and their achievements at different weights, to be considered on SRR's level he would have to at least win the Middleweight crown. I'm not sure how familar you are with Robinson, but he cleaned out nearly 20 years worth of the top 147, 160 and 175 lbers and would have won the crown at 175 had it not been for sweltering heat. The achievements of Mayweather, even Leonard for that matter are really worth no more than a couple of years of Robinson's career.

Robinson was a bigger man than Floyd, to start with. Robinson could compete in those weightclasses, because he was built to. Floyd is not built to fight extensively at middleweight, and certainly not light heavyweight. There are limits to any fighters abilities...unless they are the size of Valuev but with a Floyd Mayweather skillset...and no such fighter exists or ever will exist.

Secondly, you are talking about entirely different eras. This is relevant in terms of the difference in physical development between fighters now and back then...Robinson was streets ahead of at least 50% of the competition in ability and conditioning...it is relevant also in terms of the length of careers often being extended for financial reasons...the desire and need to fight was often more pronounced.

Floyd has a list of W's over fine titlists to his name. If you compare purely quantity for quantity, without factoring in the important differences between eras, nobody will ever compare to Robinson.
