Even if Mayweather does come back to fight Cotto

I can't see him winning that bout. As much as he's my man in and out of the ring, I can't see a 32/33 year old Floyd fresh of around 2 years of inactivity just jump in the ring and beat a guy who is by that time going to be seasoned, prime, and battle tested. Add that to the fact that welterweight isn't Floyd's natural weight and Cotto is much more fit for that weight, I see a unanimous decision loss in late 2009/early 2010.

nope he would hand pick another lesser opponent and talk smack again. he will wait until cotto and margarito fades away a little bit away from the scene then he would pop out again like the little **** he is.

IF he were to come back, i highly doubt it would be against a scrub...it would definitely be against a top guy IMO

          That's what I said to a friend.

I said, bad for Floyd, his legacy is ****ed since he got out before fighting Cotto.

He said, don't worry, he'll come out of retirement, when he realizes that he actually does miss it.

I said, he won't have a chance of being great anymore though. Inactivity is a *****.

I see Cotto-Hatton being match up in 09' and Cotto will knock out Ricky Hatton faster than pretty boy did, and Mayweather will be lured to comeback to finally settle this once, and Cotto will decision Mayweather.

Thats what they said about Sugar Ray Leonard. Coming out of retirement. Hasn't fought in years. Going up against the biggest baddest man on the planet. No way he could win. People thought he would be killed in the ring.

              You know the rest.

As much as I dont like Mayweather, I think he is so talented that he could beat Cotto even after a layoff off a couple years (a couple, like 2 or 3 tops.) Floyd wouldnt half ass it, and if he was gonna come back, he would be ready.

Retiring/inactivity for a guys like PBF-Ali-Paulie......etc hurts them more than a brawler or power boxer puncher.

Even Ali got hit WAY more after his 3 year draft business. Tyson was ruined by his stint in prison too.

One of the only guys to do it succesfully was Tye Fields after he ****ed up the dinosaurs.

Sugar was a better fighter than Floyd and Hagler was not in his prime the way Cotto will be in 2 years. Hagler also fought a ****** fight against Ray. I don't see Floyd being able to pity pat and move against Cotto, he's too aggressive for that. Cotto will get inside and we will see if Floyd has the heart to win a war.
